Growing up close to Chesapeake Bay, I must say that the holidays always seems a little nicer there. We always incorporated seafood dishes into our holiday feasts. One of my favorite dishes my mother used to make was baked oyster casserole.

Now these weren't those nasty ones that come out of a can. We would all get in the car and drive down to the Bay. The best seafood in the nation comes from there. Sometimes the seafood on our dinner table was swimming in the ocean that morning.

I'm happy to say that before my mother passed she taught my wife how to make the perfect oyster casserole. It remains my favorite meal during the holidays.

I eat it three times a year. Thanksgiving, Christmas, and my mother's birthday.

Lol , I know . We always had deviled eggs . I know people that would add a bit of mustard while mixing them up . I only like pumpkin pie if I make it myself . One time I made a pumpkin custard pie and I don't like bragging but it turned out very good Lol !

That's just an added bonus.. I am for more of the side dishes.. love seeing what everyone comes up with. Every year someone brings something different that we haven't had in the years past and I can't wait to see what new dish awaits for us this year..
