It's that time again folks! The City Commission is up for grabs. Yesterday was the deadline and here are your candidates for Harrodsburg City Commission.

Garry Bradshaw (retired HPD Detective)
Jack Coleman (former owner of Coleman's Lumber Yard)
William “Bill” Cruce
Quentin Pidcock
Rose Bishop (former Mercer County Circuit Court Clerk)
Howard “Poppa” Sallee (former codes enforcement officer)
Scott Moseley (current commissioner)
Marvin “Bubby” Isham (current commissioner)
Charlie Mattingly (current commissioner)

Note that Kerry Anness did not file for re-election.

So who of these four people will be your next city commissioners?

I am hoping it will be Rose Bishop or Jack Coleman. Either one will be a very good commissioner.

Well you get to vote for four.

Now in my opinion, it looks like the police department is trying to stack the deck. If you have Bradshaw, Sallee, and Moseley they will have a majority and the first thing they will do is fire the new chief and put Harlow back in. Rose Bishop will go right along with them. This is clearly an attempt to put Harlow back in the chief's job. That's my opinion, but a blind man could see it with his cane.

The current commission have done very good for the city compared to the prior they have done many improvements to our city and saved money and not gave it away to everyone with a hand out if you talk to employes of the city they will tell you that they are the best we have had in years they have done a lot of work for the city and continue to do more and have many plans for the future most if not all the new candidates have but one thing in mind not what is best for the city to continue to move forward but to return to the past by firing the current police chief and putting Rodney Harlow back in I ask you to go to the police dept and look how much has changed since billy has took over ask the majority of the officers how they like him now why would we as a city want to go in reverse and move backward

Not exactly, I am running for a number of reasons. First reason being I feel that I would be able to present measures that would gretly help the people of Harrodsburg grow and prosper which in turn will make Harrodsburg as a city grow and prosper. Years ago, before I was old enough to run I had an account on here and made frequent comments on political maters both local and national and after reading my comments multiple people ask me if I had considered running for office. I am not going to go into a long story but in short a lot of people agreed with me and I told them that when I was older I would be back to run; so here I am.
Bottom line; I want to run my campaign on honesty, and a clear vision for the people of Harrodsburg.
All of that being said I would like to point out that I see some candidates I have questions for.
For example if a candidate can't run a business in hard times how can anyone expect them to manage anything else in hard times? I personally wouldn't want them having access to my tax dollars.
Many years of experience ... this means nothing! You can have experience as a business owner and still not be good at it and the first time your business gets hit by hard times you go uner.
Now I don't want to point fingers or say names but there are a few candidates whos motivation I would questions. It would seem to me that they just want to have a majority so they can manage their and their buddies bottom line as opposed to the peoples work.
I am setting my website up so that I can take feedback from my constituants before and after I am elected. An open line of communication that can reach all voters and pull all opinions to one central location is the best way to determine the peoples direction moving forward.
I should have proof read before posting;

First I want to thank you for being polite. I feel that things are decent but there is room for improvement. Such as there is a communication gap between most people in the younger generation and the councilmen. This is an area where I would bring something to the table that the other candidates can't no matter how much money they spend or how much they try they are not the younger generation and can't see things from our prospective. I have several plans for growing the economy and I am working on a post to present them on my website. http://www.quentinpidcock.com/

A few things that would help growth in Harrodsburg are;
1: Legal Alcohol Package Sales
2: Lifting the 3% tax on fast food
3: Stop focusing on tourism and focus on real jobs (This is something I am passionate about.)
4: Stop spending so much on "decorations".(I will explain this on my website in greater detail.)
5: Increased communication between younger generation citizens and the council.

This is just a small list of things I would examine and likely change. All of these and more will be described on my website in greater detail.

I currently have a http://www.amway.com/pglobal (self sustaining) and http://www.recessionrelief.ws/ which I have just started and is 1/10 of the way to being self sustained. http://tinyurl.com/749mwxz

In addition, I manage my household budget and have helped a few other people manage theirs.

He DOES NOT live with his parent.... He has an Apt, seperate address, and seperate bills,and he pays them!
So before you begin running your mouth CHECK THE FACTS! He lives on a diffrent street even. I know this for a FACT!!
Even if he did live with them, that would mean nothing!!
Get over yourself & shut up. Next time you open your mouth check the facts!!!
