Sometimes I think that kids would be better off it organized sports for small children were disbanded.

There actually was a time when kids organized themselves and played by their own rules. Kids would "choose up" and play games without adult interference. They were able to develop leadership and their imaginations. If there were not enough players for complete games they created a game that could be played with fewer players.

Now all kids games are supervised by adults who too often run the games for their own pleasure. It is common to see adults attack either players or umpires. Parents can be seen screaming at their kids.

Little league football in Danville was actually taken over by a former high school football coach so that he could train what he called "Little Admirals>"

No more made up baseball games. No more kick the can. No more..red rover, red rover, we dare johnny over.

A T-ball championship for T-ball is stupid.

It's funny as hell that they don't keep score ! Kids need to learn how to lose and win ! It's gonna be part of their life! It won't ruin their lives cause they didn't win !

I was watching my nephew play on the other field and walked over to the t-ball field. What I saw was the coach of the blue team, the Rays maybe was sitting the kids up and almost batting for them. He was being a complete butt in front of all the kids. The red team I think the Cardinals got lots of bad calls but was kind of just laughing it off but just got frustrated with the other coach and his complete uncalled for behavior. You could tell the Cardinals was a much better team but I heard a parent say they were missing 4 kids because they were on vacation.

I know for sure there were two missing because both mine were on vacation the entire week and missed the whole tournament. Then again with the things I've heard I'm kind of glad they weren't there. When we played them earlier in the year I saw 3 things that really bothered me, so hearing the things I've heard honestly doesn't shock me. Having batters stand basically behind home plate so they wud hit the ball to third to prevent making an out, having ur pitcher run the ball to first every time instead of throwing it to his team mate and playing the same select players in the main positions all of every game all year. Those just do the kids an injustice and don't teach them the game as its to be played. Our coach did a great job this year with the kids. Mine can play for him any day, mainly cuz he puts the kids ahead of all else including winning. Unfortunately it's the adults who make things matter way more than they truely do. Just sad. Good year cardinals. See you in fall ball.

They didn't keep score at all this year either. It's about teaching them the game and having fun. The tourney was a last minute decision to again teach them that when they move up a level things will b diff. I'm glad they had it, just wish mine didn't have to miss it but they will survive u know? Just sad adults had to ruin it for the kids. That's what bothers me.

I used to umpire little league in my younger days. The kids were never once a problem. It was always parents. And usually was parents in the stands who didn't have a clue what they were talking about. Cheer the kids on and let it be you know. The occasional coach was an issue but rarely to be honest.

Total Bull$hit having a tournament for T- ball. Just another example of some parents wanting to parade their kids because they may be a little better than the rest. T-ball was a joke all year but then again you have to look at some of the ones running it.

Oh my, I really hit a nerve with you didn't I? Let me guess, you either have a kid on the team that won the T-Ball championship or your kin to someone on the board. Which is it? For calling me an idiot, well you can kiss my a$$. I spoke the truth and as far as being smart and being on the board..... really all you have to do is show up and they hand postions out. they can keep it, I'd rather not have my name associated with any of them.

agree, t-ball is all about learning the game of baseball and having fun at that age. So what if someone is better than someone else, that's life. there always gonna be someone better than you, prettier , skinner, smarter, better worker. that life, and I hope that your not teaching your kids there better than anyone else, because there in for a rude awaking when they get older.

Really, the purpose of having a championship tournament (when they didn't even keep score)is for what. I can only think of one answer. what is yours?

I can think of a few, but the biggest would be to stroke the ego of the parents of the kids on the stacked team. They know who they are....

The Rays won it so I assume you are talking about them in terms of being stacked.

The answer is to teach them the game. My kids didn't understand why they didn't keep score or track of outs. Cuz they know score and outs are part of the game. Doesn't really matter cuz mine missed the whole thing anyway. So oh well, fall ball in coach pitch where they do keep score and strikes and outs.
