Why is Obama holding 98% of Americans hostage to get tax increases for the top 2% of income earners that will only fund the gov't for 8 days? Do you middle class democrats who work 40 hrs + in a factory really think that taxing those people is going to make anything better?

Why do you only think the "Repugs" (as you say)are the problem? You are being intellectually dishonest if you say it's all Bush and the republicans fault. Can you fools not realize that it is both parties that are screwing us over? No one party has a monopoly on greed. Until we as taxpayers/voters wake up and kick all of the career politicians/lobbyists out of DC, we are all doomed. Quit blaming one side, you are proving your ignorance.

Didnt President Obama win the election railing on keeping middle class tax cuts and raising the top 2%? Weren't these Bush tax cuts TEMPORARY anyway? Why is YOUR party hostage to a guy like Grover Norquist who isn't even an elected official??
I will tell you why..becuse YOUR party, unlike mine, ONLY cares for the wealthy (as if this isn't obvious enough). The Koch brothers and Karl Rove tried (unsuccessfully) to do everything they could to buy the election and STILL GOT TROUNCED!

Plese tell your obstructionist party to quit fillibustering their own bills (HMM HMM Mitch McConnell) and get the hell out of the way and take the tea baggers with them...YOUR party is so far out there that it will only continue to lose elections and drag this country down...

you are the ignorant one my friend...:)

Obama holding 98% of aaaaamerica hostage??? Really? Please, turn off Rush, Hannity, bill, and all Fox and Friends and come back to reality...
OUR President has said that we should go ahead and PASS the bill (which has already passed thru the Senate) that will guarantee the tax cuts for the middle class...
Now how exactly is he holding '98% of Americans hostage'????

Are you really this blind or what?

Didn't the house republicans win the election and keep a majority by saying they didn't want to increase taxes on anybody in a weak to moderate growth economy, including the top 2%??? Should they not listen to the voters that put them in office? Or should they just bow down and give Obama what he wants?

Yes, the Bush tax cuts were/are temporary. They have also been Obama's tax cuts for the last 4 yrs. because he agreed with republicans that it's not a good idea to raise taxes on anyone in a weak economy. I think most people would agree that we still have a fairly weak economy right now. Obama has admitted that he is fine with going over the cliff. He's fine with it because people like you will only blame the republicans if we do go over the cliff , which is complete bs because Obama/senate has pretty much said that it's their way or the highway. This is just as unreasonable as the repubicans being obstructionists. I don't see how you or any other "democrats" can truly be happy with YOUR party leaders with the likes of Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Shumer..etc.
These people are not moderate democrats. Why don't you condemn them for being as extreme to the left as Mcconnell is to the right?

I have to admit that I got a good laugh out of your little rant after your first 2 questions. I'm registered as an independent and voted for gary johnson for president this last election. Did you not read the second paragraph of my comment? If not, I was blaming both parties for the situation we're in. I think it says quite a bit that you jump to conclusions and think that I'm a republican. I do agree with your comments about the koch bros and rove. I also agree that mcconnell needs to go. I'm not too confident that the democrats will find someone to run that can beat the $ machine of mcconnell.

To your last comment, do you really think that our country would be better served by one party(democrats) control? If so, please explain.

Hmm...where do i begin? you are wrong on almost everything you wrote, it is difficult to decide where to begin..

House Republicans lost 3 seats. Where you get they 'won' is beyond me..Do you not remember the whole 'legitimate rape'(thanks Todd Akin :)

Secondly, you REALLY showed either your ignorance or stupidity by saying 'They have also been Obama's tax cuts for the last 4 yrs. because he agreed with republicans that it's not a good idea to raise taxes on anyone in a weak economy.'
Obama was ONCE AGAIN held hostage by your Repugs. He wanted unemployment benefits extended and the only way to do that was to unwillingly agree to extend the tax cuts to get the Repugs to sign off on it. DO YOU NOT REMEMBER THIS or DO YOU THINK PEOPLE WILL BELIEVE WHATEVER YOU TYPE TO BE THE TRUTH?? This isn't Fox News you know..

As far as going off the 'cliff'..answer me this. Are you saying you are against going ahead and guaranteeing the tax cuts for 98% of Americans? Obama and the Democrats want to at least go ahead and get this out of the way but YOUR REPUGS refuse!! HOW CAN YOU DEFEND THIS??
Please explain how the tax cuts for the top 2% have benefited our economy. How many jobs have trickled down? Please show me facts. Not more B.S. that you spew. IF you look it up, you will see it has had the opposite effect on job growth. The wage gap has increased like never before. The rich have gotten richer while the poor and middle class have struggled. FACT! Jack!

I could list all your whack jobs in the GOP but I dont have all night..but this should sum it up for you...
In your last nomination for the Republican candidate you had the following LEADING at one time or another...and this is scary to say the least..
1. Michelle Bachman....wow, just wow..
2. Rick Perry...really? where is ol' Rick now?
3. Newt Gingrich...damn it, i wanted that space station on the moon he was gonna do!!!
4. Herman Cain....man can make a damn good pizza!
5. Sarah Palin... wonder if she can still see Russia from her house????
6. Tim Pawlenty.....yaaaaaawwwnn.
7. Donald Trump....Yes, at one brief moment, the Don had Fox News wind in his sails! SCARY HAIR!
8. Ron Paul... Is he still alive?
9. Rick Santorum.....at least he was right about Romney being the WORST candidate to run vs. Obama!
10. Mitt Romney...Well ol Mitt learned one thing (maybe), you can't dismiss 47% of Americans if you plan on being their President!!

I hope this makes things crystal clear for you and anybody else out there reading this as to why YOUR party is in such bad shape and out of touch..

I'm tired of owning you...goodnight :)

Tired of owning me?? That is too funny. If this was a "formal debate", you have been "owned" because you have completely ignored quite a few of the points/comments i made. The glaring example would be that you keep insinuating that i'm a republican, which is totally false. I'm NOT taking up for the republicans at all. Why do you keep doing that? I was trying to make the point that 47% of people did not vote for Obama and should still have a voice in our gov't. I'll ask you again because you completely ignored it the first time, do you think we would be better served if we were under one party(dems) control?

Did the reps keep control of the house in the last election? Yes, they did. If I use your logic, Obama didn't get as many votes as he did last election, does that mean he didnt "win"? No, he did win, just like the reps won the house.

They are Obamas tax cuts. The dems had a near super majority when that bill was voted on and dems didnt vote for it either. For petes sake, Obamas budget was voted DOWN 99-0 when dems had a majority in the HOR and Senate. Explain that.

I don't have a problem raising taxes on the top 2% if the proposed increase revenue would actually go to deficeit reduction, but it wont, and you know that. After the Bush tax cuts were enacted, we had 52 straight weeks of job growth. The tax cuts did catch up with us because Bush, dem house and dem senate increased spending. It is obvious that you cant cut taxes and then raise spending. That is the reciepe for the disaster we have now. I do agree that the rich have gotten richer. The more reasonable thing to do would be increasing taxes but then give a tax credit for creating jobs. This could be a counter balance that could get bipartisan support. Bipartisan support is not what Obama is looking for. He has the reps right where he wants them(by the reps own doing) and is using the middle class as hostages to get what he wants.

I know I'm wasting my time because you've already proved over and over that you will blindly follow Obama and the dems. It is people like you that are whats wrong with America. You only see one side of then issue and will only blame one side when its a combination of both. That is what is crystal clear.
