I agree about the building. I was there today. It was much nicer than I expected. Honestly. I cannot comment on their menu, I didn't see it.

Yeah find out. Find out how much it will cost a family of four to eat there. Now I'm not talking about the cheapest items on the menu. I am talking about the the AVERAGE cost of a meal.

Every time I've met Eddie and Tracy they've been very nice people. Maybe you locals have had a few bad run ins with them over the last 20 years, but every small town has its gossip and bar fights and grudges going back to high school.

Eddie and Tracy seem to put a lot of effort into charities - they always have that toy drive around Christmas with the Fire Station, they are involved with Camp Horsin' around, and in my area, way way up here in Illinois, MG did a benefit concert last year that benefited the Middle East Conflicts Wall Memorial located about 5 miles from me over in Marseilles, Illinois.

Every concert I've been to Eddie has honored our country and usually has singled out vets/current military in the crowd. I've seen their tour busses leave early after shows on Saturday nights so the guys would be home in time for church with their families on Sunday morning. So to me they are good people.

All that said, yes, this is a bad economy to be starting any new business.... but someone has to take risks or all that will be left are the big chain restaurants and big box stores. Hopefully for Eddie's investors the Steakhouse will be a success.....

Maybe with a cheaper lunch menu, or weekday dinner or drink specials the locals can take advantage of, the place can survive. Keep the place filled weekdays and then sock it to us tourists ($$$) on the weekends.

I believe first- if Eddie or family is reading this, they shudnt pay attention to it. Alot of us know about the good things they have done even tho they wond admit or talk about it. They money they have donated and not only that but time is something, some of these people on Topix know nothing about and if they wud give it a try they mite actualy feel good about. I look forward to meeting them and the staff when it opens, idk if Eddie smokes but ill bring a 1ST class cigar to celebrate our freedoms with. BTW Smoking Cuban cigars isnt paying their bills...i think its like burning their fields! God Bless.

You couldn't be more wrong. You must have forgot about the live entertainment. And I'm not talking about some small teenage garage bands either, real musicians, professional musicians. Plus, they are going to build an ampitheatre behind the place with a way bigger stage. Think what you want, this place will stay packed.

Beaumont Inn and Shakertown are both good establishments. No reason to hate them. They'll survive Eddie's steakhouse. They have a different type of clientele.

"Big names" are not going to come play there but once in a blue moon. You'll get the Non-Filters and Brad Burchett. How are they going to build an amphitheater? Eddie's out of money for that project, his partners have pulled out, and the bank won't give him any more.

this place will do great, its not really about the food as much as it is the atmosphere. its a place where you can play, locals or whoever. there are plenty of people who will be coming from lexington and even further. if you have to worry about how much the place is going to cost for a dinner then you dont need to go there anyways. the stage was built fo music. there will be plenty of big names that play there and the money they make on that one night will be way more then they could make in a normal week or 2.

I certainly wish Eddie the best, but with over 500 jobs lost in Harrodsburg since February, I am afraid that he has located his 7 million dollar establishment in a town that cannot afford to frequent it.

yeah, as much as I am looking sooo forward to a really thick rare steak and a loaded baked potato and some Beam & diet Dew, I am mostly driving 6 hours for the music. I better be on that "Opening Night" list, I have been waiting for this for 2 years!(but I really am looking forward to that USDA Prime steak so thick even some $7 an hour "chef" can't screw it up..... really, give this guy a chance).(besides, they'll cover their mortgage just by selling $30 t-shirts to tourists like me)

Well looks like since Joetta hit the air to Florida, Eddie Montgomery has taken over the weak willed politicians this county has to offer. When Eddie talks about "My Town" from now on, we will all know it's Harrodsburg. Bart, you had better get to learning the Boot Scootin' Boogie better than Lonnie Campbell if you expect to win.
