NUMBER ONE:what 36 seniors lost? yeah their gonna be bad. no coach is gonna fix that problem. less than 10 seniors now and a bad junior class? oh it's the coaches fault right?
NUMBER TWO: look at their strength of schedule: anderson co., lafeyette., southwestern, boyle.. marion co (who only lost to #2 4A bell co by 2..
NUMBER THREE: what does a merger have to do with anything? increase of strength of schedule right? some idiot earlier said they were good when their were in their smaller classes and the merge made them play better people. what the **** does that have to do with anything. 2+2 4. not weak little 2 mixed with weak litle two makes a weak 4. cause i thought they were strong in their classes? its ****ing numbers of students not size.
ANSWER? TIME! Marty's first year he had a 300 lb line average and a 4.3 running back along with an amazing junior class that went pretty far. Next year merger, mercer losing hardly any seniors and gaining two more 4.3 running backs. Kenny Chesney could have coached that team and won state. anyways..

The sophomore class is GREAT. they start majority of the varsity squad anyway. so two more years and you bangwagon panzies will be back on board. just be patient.

Football isn't all about talent. Discipline wins ball games. Look at the lack of discipline coming from teachers and parents. Mercer has had talent to hold boyle co. in 7 on 7 passing league in the past but got beat 40 to something full pads. Look at the difference 4 players and battle gear can make.

Education wise thats a joke most of the people that transferred to mercer that i knew, went there to pass the couldnt at Harrodsburg. Only reason they merged was to get new high school. We had the money they needed to build it. And after some underhanded crap went down they succeeded. Thanks Randall for trying to save the school. If Burgin is still going strong so should Harrodsburg. Personally I'd rather be a Bulldog than a titan go there you students who hate mercer start a football team there.

not me.i graduated from there, and am quite ashamed of it. many other people that went there when i did dropped out. either pregnant or just didnt want to carry on

mercer has never played boyle in 7 on 7. and but you were right about one thing.. infact boyle's largest lineman weighs 200 lbs. even. the heaviest player on the team is at 245 lbs, but thats their D1 recruit mlb.

Mercer has played boyle in seven on seven i should know i was WR on the team. You know like pre-season scrimmage without shoulder pads 7 on 7. Anyway boyle was not the object of the conversation. They already got it together.

but white boy they did not play in 7 on 7 this year.. maybe your referring to a season in previous years..

but i'll also say after seeing film mercer lacks technique. linemen are too slow to get their blocks, the D-Line has no idea what a squeeze is, and the offensive is too one dimensional in general. the wing T isn't gonna work with fatties. not to be mean, but it's true.

so i won't blame it all on the players, but again, it's still a young team. can't pick the rose before it blooms!

lineman being too slow has nothing to do with technique....thats just an attribute that can be fixed with technique which I saw there lineman showed strides in. The d-ends did do a good job squeezing down there blockers and setting the plays up for linebackers too take. Strength through years is gonna help their linebackers make better players and will cause them to be good. You have to remember these are the same defensive coaches that coached good technique to the first three Titan football teams

if the line isn't explosive in a Wing T there are no time for holes to open up the middle. and your guards can't pull and your tackles can't block the safetys, it doesnt matter how much speed your backs have, they'll be left for dead.

im not saying the fat lineman idea is deadbeat, im just saying it is when you run a wing T.
