What a crock. Cutting through lots is necessary only because local governments fail to make developers improve road capacity in proffers when they approve these big box retailers' projects that cause more traffic and lights.

This is a bunch of Bull shirts!!! They tried this on mean a few years back in Cville at the parking lot where the old Whole Foods store was. I pulled in off of 29, saw how crowded it was...decided to go the back way up to Kroger at Rio Hill. This cop pulls me over, lights flashing as I am going behiind the starbucks store. I told him why I pulled in and decided to go to another store. He told me it was Illegal to do that!!! EXCUSE ME?? I can't change my mind about where I want to shop?? OMG... I guess we should be thankful that the cops have only this to worry about!?!?!?

Much like Charlottesville, Harrisonburg is under the leadership of a carpet bagger bringing with him a bag of goods to sell the local "suckers" desperate for a quick fix. They will pull these schemes to show an immediate bump in revenue and cite expert leadership as the cause. Be careful local h burgers there is trouble with carpet baggers and do not take the direction and insult those our are sworn to protect and serve.. It is the carpet bagger that is the problem

More cops too afraid to go after real crime, they pick on easy targets, the average driver. They have gangs in Harrisonburg and this is what they do?

How about fixing the problem intersections instead?

Many stoplights are pointless and the public would be well served by cutting the cord that powers those mindless drones.

REALLY???? This is crazy! Like it's already been said, fix the problem intersections/ traffic light patterns! Or how about going after the speed demons & those who are getting away with real aggressive driving? Harrisonburg PD, there are bigger problems out there!

Harrisonburg hires a bunch of wet behind the ears just turned 21 years old kids to keep us safe. Really scary, for them and the community. They have to be diverse in their hiring and hired several young females lately, one of whom i know. She got into trouble in school for selling her moms meds, made a fake bomb, and had tons of accidents and speeding tickets. She made it through the tests so they hired her. She also had an affair with her teacher while in school, and she lives with her now in a relationship. Illegal? No. Unethical yes. And so it begins. Good job hburg.

Different story if it's a checkpoint (sobriety, etc.)- courts have ruled that a legal turn before the checkpoint is not against the law (not a legitimate reason to pursue and stop that vehicle for avoiding a checkpoint, common in the past.) Anyone care to differ? This was taught in a recent in-service legal update at CSCJTA by the way.
