I agree 100% with the decision of Commonwealth's Attorney Marsha Garst.

What I don't agree with is the fact that if a civilian had done this because the cops could not get there fast enough, they would most likely face criminal charges.

I have seen it far too often, charge the civilian and let a jury decide if it was self defense or not.

Let the cop try and run somebody over in a wheel chair with witnesses around, he'll still get off.

"Naulty moved toward officers with the knife" I though it was reported that he "charged" the officers. The opportunity to shoot someone is just too strong a temptation for some when they are 100% assured that it will always be labeled "justified" by their own. The "TackleBerry Mentality" is alive and well. It didn't take 3 days to clear, more like 3 seconds. Naulty could have been unarmed, and it would not matter, the cop would still get a certificate of merit, and an extra week of paid vacation.

That man in the wheelchair lived long enough to show people what kind of men are employed in Charlottesville, and Albemarle County Law Enforcement.

The issue is not whether or not the guy died or not, the issue is cops can pretty much do as they please with total immunity. Had it not been for the dash cam in the cop car that abortion on human rights would never have come to the public's attention. The insult is the cop still has his job, his so called superiors stating he has training in key areas, obviously not in human rights or integrity.

Considering the diseases that are on the downtown mall it is a wonder that shoppers don't wear moon suits. Every indigent with a cutting edge new disease gets sent to Charlottesville for treatment.

If nothing else he showed that Charlottesville is willing to coddle walking petrie dishes.

I'm sure there are those who think the same of you. One day you will surely reap what you sow.

The walking petrie dish reference applies to the milieu that strolls the mall between UVA experimental treatments-----buy you also have a point.

Seriously?! An abortion of human rights? Get out of your comfy little lazy boy chair and experience life elsewhere in the world where true violations of human rights occur!! How about female genital mutilation? Or political prisoners thrown in jail for decades or family members stolen out of their beds at night because they don't agree with the current party in charge? Nothing was covered up when the officer hit the pedestrian. He didn't lie about it, he didn't flee the scene, nothing. The man wasn't even hurt. Should you be fired because you have an accident? His "retraining" probably came with a letter of discipline which proably effected him financially, much like you or I getting a speeding ticket and having to pay a fine. Get over yourself and open your eyes to the true travesties of the world. Police in the US screw up- they are human. Go talk to a Mexican citizen, or someone from Afghanistan or Russia. You do not fear the police. Wake up to how good you have it.

BTW, I'm glad these officers are safe. I'm sorry the man had to get shot, but it's not like it was a surprise- never bring a knife to a gun fight.

Is this the funny story of the week or what? How many flights are there every day in this country, and how many people do you hear walk into a plane propeller? And the one who does it is a blonde fashion model! That is why I love oversaturation of the news...you get stories like this.
Truth be told, folks, as anorexic as those models tend to be, she should have been able to skirt between the blades as they rotated.
So now she can compare head shots with: a) the lady who had her face mangled by a pet chimp, and b) Roger Ebert.
Glad you said the bonde thing now i'll sit back and see how many of them try white out to block the conversation
