Please note the charge was Nolle Prosequi...not dismissed. It can be brought back against the officer at another time. The np disposition will remain on the officer's record forever. It can be harmful for future employment efforts on a criminal history report.

The new Chief writes well and is humble. I hope that as time goes on, the patrol offices will improve and the Chief's eloquent apologies can fade to black.
HPD is a department with tremendous potential. Let's give the new Chief the breathing space he needs to affect change in the ways which it is needed.

This is why animals will continue to be neglected and abused!! People are allowed to get away with this stuff! What a bunch of idiots!! Pretty scary that this officer is back on the streets ... boy do i feel safe!

Next time put a Red Man suit on the kitty first; give him a fighting chance and get a little training at the same time.

Its scary and par for the course, they can kill animals, run over people in wheel chairs, make false arrests, and still be out on the street before the sun goes down. Heroes my poop shoot.

This is disgusting. I refuse to refer to him as Officer Snoddy. He does not deserve that respect. Nor would I refer to him as Mr. Snoddy. He is not a man.
If he only beat the cat in the head once, it does not take 19x to click your baton on the ground to close it. And what about the blood spatter sprayed on the side of the porch and the dented siding which he hit as he was pulling back to hit the cat over and over?
There is no justice in Virginia. I do not blame the police. I'm sure the Chief is disgusted that he has to release a statement supporting this monster. It is the DA's office that is 100% to blame in this case.
