Who remembers "Loew's." Just one of the three movie theaters that occupied Main Street.

Remember going there with my Mother & father 1940s worke3d across st. at Prtoctors as an Usher at 16 (until I was fired for letting friends sneak in fire exit) 55 cents an hour WOW!!

You paid fifty cents for two Movies back in the fifty and sixties. I lived on Beechwood ave close to the library, and went to jefferson school.

Me too, 55-cents an hour! I think the year was 1957, the same year the movie "Sayonara" w/Marlon Brando debuted. Can't remember her name, the tiny lady who did the hiring. "Mrs. Wagner"? |

Anyone remember before they had the candy counter at Loew's, you had to buy it before you went in, At The Milky Way, right in front of the grate in the sidewalk.

5 cinemas in New Rochelle at one time....RKO, Main Street Cinema, The Town, Loews and the one in the Mall.
