I'm collecting building stories about the Benaske building family. (John and Nancy Benaske, Greg Benaske, Mark Benaske. There seem to be a lot of homes with shoddy work, including mine by this family. My home was so badly damaged by them I couldn't get an inspector to even certify it was safe to live in. My walls buckled, chimney tipped over, ect. Any connection that links the Benaskes with the Finch brothers (recently arrested, some cocaine charges) would be appreciated.

You apparently have nothing else to do in your life and this has become pretty consuming. I heard you lost in a court battle and an inspector (in a court of law) deemed the work done exactly to code. As for the other connections, sorry you lose there too. Seems as if YOU might be on something. Do you know what the definition of insanity is - doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result, sound familiar moron.

Don't they have to pull permits when building something?? well some where in the county building there should be records of who all they have pulled permits to build for. Thats why we have Freedom of information....its there just look for it...and yes ask around facebook as well as myspace. you may get some answers but good ole fashion research will find what your looking for.

They had to pull permits to do this work, there has to be records of all the permits they have pulled. Under the freedom of information you should be able to get that information, plus good ole fashion research.

Insanity doesn't have nothing to do with poor workmen ship..And any one can be bought off, money talks....

So RC keep looking the answer's are there you will just have to find them. don't give up.....

It appears that RC has some motives other than reporting quality construction. We were blessed with the assistance of Benaske Builders to construct our dream home and they delivered. All of our request where diligently responded to and they are very innovative in making the most of square footage. Their home warranty speaks for itself. They will guarantee their work, so please don't give the boarderline slander any merit. I don't know the details of above, but I can say my relationship with Benaske builders has been professional and extremely pleasant. I would not hesitate to recommend Benaske Builders to freinds and family.

OMG. Benaske's built my home and I have been nothing but satisifed. They won Best Builder 3 years. Sounds like sour grapes to me.
Did My Research

I have known the Benaske Builder famly for years as they have done many projects for my family over the years. I decided to do my own research. I called the Building Inspector to ask about the situation. I was told that the home was done to code. I was also told that RC was so unpleasant and appeared to want to get something for nothing. All the inspectors testified in Lansing at the court hearing. The judge in Lansing found in favor of the Benaske's. Was he on the "take" too, I think not. Nothing of my research did anything to change my opinion.

RC better watch it when making accusations of a linkage between parties that does not exist. He is getting dangerously close to liable and slander.

1. I have a state inspection that shows 18 code and workmanship violations.
2. Benaskes did not pull a permit, per their contract, and it was't until I involved the building inspector that we discovered this.
3. Local building inspector would not enforce codes at first due to the lack of a permit at the start of the project.
4. My case never went to court. It went to the state, where a state attorney was assigned. She met with me for 15 minutes before the judge came in. Not a lot of prep time. Benaskes had an attorney who had time to prep, even called in the Clare Building Inspector to testify, who had never seen my home, nor did he have jurisdiction in my county. The judge dismissed him.
5. I have documents showing Mark Benaske claiming both that everything was fine when Greg left and that he had never been to my property, nor had his business, even though I have pictures of his trucks in my driveway.
6. Any doubters are free to see these records. Also, I am happy to send pictures to anyone interested. Get the facts. I share my info with anyone interested. Having your home wrecked like this will drive you crazy. I will not stop until they pay for my damages.

Ok here it is. I have spoken with the state builders dept since it appears you continue to spew what appears to be venom. You chose to take it that route. The state inspection did not reflect the condition of the home when they left. The dept transcript indicate that the person doing inspections had only built one home and that was for himself. It is people like you who cry foul and when you lose say the process was corrupt. I am a builder in Isabella county and have been in business long enough to know that some people would never be satisfied no matter what. According to your own timeline it has been long enough that it seems a sane rational person would have realized you lost then and you still lose. I have been associated and known the family for about 10+years. They are honest but will not roll over for anyone trying to something they neither deserve or earned. By the way none of the inspectors would come to testify in lansing if they did not think you were way out of line.
