Logging at Farragut State Park

I recently moved back to N Idaho, (I was born here) and I went to Farragut and couldn't believe what I saw, stumps everywhere, chopped up mulch on the forest floor. I asked what they were doing, and apparently there's a plan to log 60 feet on each side of every trail and to log the shoreline - which I thought was against some environmental regulation. Now don't get me wrong, I have nothing agaist logging, but this was Butt Ugly Logging. In some places they took out some really big trees, and others, it looked like they just mowed them down in big wide strips. Just wondering if anybody else has been out there and noticed the damage. Can't imagine what the park will look like with 60 feet of stumps on either side of all the trails.
