Is it sad that an Erie newspaper has better local coverage of Chambersburg than Chambersburg's local newspaper?

Yes, they are very tasty and I would rank Martin's Potato Rolls as central Pennsylvania's #1 Culinary Contribution to the world.

I can't prove this, but I'm pretty sure that the secret to NYC's famous Shake Shack burger is, in fact, the Martin's Potato Roll.

According to Serious Eats, probably the biggest and most respected food blog on the web, Shake Shack does, in fact, use Martin's Potato Rolls.

In a recent showdown between what is considered by many to America's three best regional hamburgers chains - In-N-Out, Five Guys and Shake Shack - Shake Shack came out on top thanks, at least in part, to it's bun.

And I've said, many time before on the dining thread, that BREAD MATTERS. Lots of great sandwich and hoagie shops in the Chambersburg area fail to realize this at their own peril. You used to be able to buy the cheapest break in bulk for your restaurant or sub shop, and no one cared.

Look, if we're going to eat carbs, they better be good. Welcome to the 21st century.

This is Marcus Rauhut's article from the PO. It's been edited down in this version picked up by AP. The online Public Opinion article had more info on Martin's sales and growth strategies and some video.

Yes, you are correct and that was my mistake. I retract my statement and regret the error. Well done Mr. Rauhut.
