People should be allowed to do as they please. No one has the right to tell me what to do or believe in. I am my own person and will do as I please!

No attempt to provide a scripture that ISN'T about excess lust, gang rape or “unnatural” acts committed by heterosexual men?

No attempt to provide a scripture that in any way condemns monogamous, committed same-sex unions?

No?

I didn't think so.

When push comes to shove, you've got nothing. LOL!
Tell you what, give me the name of the book and theologian where you got the information and i'll take a look at it. And Mad magazine doesn't count.

LOL! As much as you want the debate to be about Bible scholars, what we're really talking about is what the Bible actually says.

Tell me a scripture that ISN'T about excess lust, gang rape or “unnatural” acts committed by heterosexual men, and I'll consider that you have an intellectually and morally honest opinion.

Otherwise you're just blindly parroting a traditional teaching and not what scripture actually says.

Only the Christianists oppose gay marriage anymore.

----------

Analysis demonstrates increased and diverse support, isolated opposition for marriage

- A majority of voters under the age of 65 support the freedom to marry by a margin of 8 points - 52 percent support and 44 percent opposed.

- There is also widespread consensus among racial groups of voters under the age of 65 that it's Time for Marriage. 60% of Latinos, 51% of African-Americans, and 50% of white voters under the age of 65 support the freedom to marry.

- Support has also swelled for young conservatives and mainstream Republicans. 47% of voters who oppose the Tea Party support marriage for same-sex couples, while 51% of Republicans under the age of 30 support the freedom to marry.[...]

- Even more dramatically, exit polls show that all voters besides white evangelical

- Christians support the freedom to marry (58% support, just 36% oppose). By contrast, white evangelical Christians reject the freedom to marry by overwhelming margins (24% support/73% oppose).

----------

The anti-homosexual crowd has been completely unable to convince the nation using secular, civil arguments because they are all simply unconvincing.

So they have to resort to theocratic arguments. But the public doesn't buy them any more than the Christianist would buy an argument based on the Quran.

And when an honest assessment of the Bible reveals that even the theocratic arguments are false, the Christianists are left with nothing.

Nothing except their furious bigotry.

And that's why they've already lost this debate. The Christianist argument is a political dead-end and nobody is convinced by it anymore.

Nobody.

The fact is, it doesn't matter what the Bible says or what you think it is says. Separation of Church and State - your religious text should not influence my laws. Simple as that.

I prefer to judge people on their character rather than their religious beliefs, political ideology, race, color, culture or sexual orientation.

If all people who think like that are going to hell, believe me JTB, you do not have to feel bad for us.

So you won't tell me which theologian you heard and which commentary you used to come up with this interpretation?

All i need to do is read it. It doesnt say anything about rape or unnatural acts by heterosexuals.

Still avoiding debating the actual Biblical texts, I see.

Still avoiding listing the scriptures about homosexuality that AREN'T about excess lust, gang rape or “unnatural” acts committed by heterosexual men, I see.

Of course you are! LMAO!
