I do feel for the community of Midland because the Cabarrus County School Board did the same thing to Harrisburg. We lived on the "wrong" side of 49. They started out at Harrisburg Elementary and when they went to middle school instead of going with the other 90% of their classmates to CC Griffin, they went to JM Fries and onto Jay M Robinson. Now with the Hickory Ridge Change, you have a very few children that will now be ripped from Jay M Robinson to the new school.
While I have no problem with the new school and I a big believer in community schools - they should have left all of Harrisburg intact to go through elementary, middle and high schools together.
