This action shows that the commission has too much power. If the citizens and officials do not agree, why should the commission have so much power that they can fire her. This is a Democracy, right?

The commission's arguments were not strong enough to fire her. All of her good outweighed anything negative.

The Commish did the right thing! Leslie Smith was doing nothing more than collecting a really good paycheck without having to commute to Tyson's Corner. Her accomplishment was keeping the county status quo for her pro-development, pro-track supporters. I have lived in Jefferson County since 1992 and haven't seen a lick of achievement.

Now if the voters of Jefferson County can vote FOR the zoning referendum and AGAINST tables games we'll be sending a message to bubba-mindset that its time for this county to get serious about its destiny and to bring in a multitude of employers rather than feeding the Gambling Beast know and Charles Town Races and Slots that can only offer simple customer service jobs (not careers) to the folks who call Jefferson County home.

PS: Surkampulous for President!

Daily Horoscope for December 26

Taurus

It's important that you leave yourself plenty of room to manouvres during the weeks ahead, as Mercury turns retro today, especially when it comes to making decisions and airing your opinions to the world. You need to be as flexible as possible right now, otherwise you could find that you've boxed yourself into a corner and have to do some serious back-tracking. You need to consider all points of view and not just your own.
