Instead of city administration forcing these water meters on everyone perhaps they should be paying more attention to the infestation of rats that the city has. I love wildlife but maybe now (even temporarily) until we get this under control everyone should stop feeding the birds and squirrels (bird baths included). Believe me seeing a rat walking down my driveway upon my driving up it at night made me stop and wonder. Also driving down Harper the businesses (including apartments) that always have an overflow of garbage (where the lid of the container can't close and overflow is left in bags on the ground) should be ticketed and made to get more pickups. If someone can drive the city giving tickets to residents that do not shovel 2 inches of snow-have these same people check out the garbage dumpsters for businesses/apartments. These same businesses have this problem every week and they know it. If everyone works together maybe we can gain some control back as I know we will not be able to eradicate rats but what is happening now is not acceptable!

Even if every resident in the city had a bird feeder.....the spillage would not be enough to sustain even a small population of rats. Bird baths are another misguide belief. These bird brained ideas are like putting a bandaid on a severed artery.

coyote pups are for sale at reputable pet stores. Raised properly they will take care of the rats and still be loveable pets.

People who have rat problems need to call a pro and pay them. People who dont have rat problems are tired of the crying and the tax dollars going to Sandys lover.

If people including businesses cleaned up their acts and residents did not have (some of them) dog feces covering their yards then people like us who are abiding by the rules would not have to complain to the city! I agree with Lou if the city can "patrol" neighborhoods to ticket people for 2 inches of snow and charge ridiculous fees for 40 feet of sidewalk then these same people can patrol the city and help us fight back against the "rats"! Saint Clair Shores has already been on the tv program "Infested" we do not need/want to be known for rats!
