<quoted text>So you are saying that when the trucker that told him there was the biggest hill around here. The on that hill you have to go down and then come to a complete stop after coming down the hill. He did it anyway. HE DESERVES EVERYTHING HE GETS AND THEN SOME. That truck had TEN brakes on it and he only had three that actually works. He was a trucker HE KNEW!!! GO look at the truck, its at Kenneth Robinson's. The tires alone would not have passed inspection, let alone the brakes.
There are hundreds of trucks just like that on the road everyday. But an accident doesn't happen. In this case it did, but to want to hang a man for an accident is just ridiculous. And when you let things like that happen you could easily end up on the other side one of these days. There are a hundred ways you could have an accident tomorrow and somebody could lose their life. It wouldn't be so good to end up facing manslaughter over it. You think because you knew them it is special circumstances and they deserve to hang. You are wrong, whatever you do to him, won't change what has already happened, you just end up hurting more people, sure he has a family too.

I don't know anyone that was involved in the accident.

This guy isnt from around here so I doubt he understood just how bad that mountain is. As for the inspections I think we both know that a large number of the trucks around here wouldnt pass. It is impossible to keep a truck in perfect working order 100% of the time. I just think that bottom line he made a bad call. People on here are acting like he intended to do this. Maybe next time you are speeding and get in an accident you should be charged with attempted murder since you know speeding could cause a wreck.

The company SHOULD be held to some account. They are suppose to have his driver's license/CDL on FILE! They have to so they can get him covered on their insurance, regardless if it was his truck or their's.

He was hauling their stuff, so he was working for them. It should be investigated a little more. I know this stuff because I worked at a company similar to this one. Also, if you get a ticket, the company will find out. They do get notified by an insurance company when the person is placed on it or when they run his background check and check his CDL credentials.

Wow!! Talk about a hanging jury! It's just wondeful tha everyone leads such perfect lives! I'm glad our justice system is taking care of this instead of a lynch mob. Where mercy is given, mercy is received...Judge not lest ye be judged. You'd all be singing a different tune if the truck driver was a member of your family

Whew, some of you folks are a little tough. The man had an accident, which he will have to pay for. To imply murder is just crazy. Do any of you know how the legal system works. It would be impossible to get a conviction for murder, in fact he would probably go free because of being charged with the wrong crime. Some of you people think with your emotions instead of with your brains. He was in an accident and was partially to blame.
PARTIALLY TO BLAME OMG I DONT THINK SO HE IS ALL TO BLAME....DID YOU EVEN KNOW THE GUYS THAT LOST THERE LIFE THAT DAY I DID AND THIS BRAKES MY HEART PEOPLE TAKING UP FOR HIM BET IF IT WAS YOU BROTHER YOU WOULDN'T BE HE WAS SO IN THE WRONG PAUL AND KEVIN WAS DOING THERE JOB RIGHT AND THE SAFEST WAY THEY COULD GOD LOVE THERE HEARTS!!OMG PEOPLE HE NEW WHAT HE WAS DOING WHEN HE GOT IN THAT TRUCK WHAT A CHANCE HE WAS TAKING that was wrong in the first place

I hope this guy didn't get a good lawyer. We are now looking at another postponment in my brother's death by a drunk driver in Virginia. Found out something new about the "Justice" system there.....An attorney or defendant can ask for a judge trial so he is not looking at a jury of his peers. He knows they would be harder than a judge who has seen alot of this type crime. No matter who finds him guilty anyone is only going to do the time law allows.

By the things some have been posting someone needs to tell you. I realize they were family and it has to be hard on you. but to suggest someone be hanged because of an accident is over the edge. Try to remember that guy has family too, but it seems you think they should be punished too. The man was trying to make a living. Surely you know he never meant to hurt anyone. He is guilty of thinking he could make it with an old truck that needed repair. If you had your way he would be charged with murder. And more then likely he would walk out a free man because of being charged with the wrong crime. Then you would feel bad.

You can be sure he will spend time and rightfully so. Even though it was an accident he still has to accept so much responsibility. He might not have had any idea how bad the hill really is, but he took the chance and will now have to pay for it.

Honey, Jails are for anyone breaking the law and pushing pills counts... Do you really believe that doesn't harm children or old people? What about kids left to fend for themselves and have no one acting like parents due to pills? What about pill heads out causing accidents? Sellers are due some blame for that too.
You want the "company" held responsible for this guys' poor judgement, fine. Just try to get the pill pusher held responsible the next time some pill head gets in an accident... "Hey I just sold him the stuff." DUH! The guy made a bad decision or series of bad decisions, and for that he will receive punishment. I, personally, could not imagine living with myself knowing I had killed two young men. What's to say this man is not in his own hell right now?
There is a consequence for every action. EVERYONE needs to realize this, and sometimes the consequence is NOT desirable!
Sally,Sally! in response to ..what's to say this man is not in his own hell right now. someone stated this is a blackman/mexican?? do you really believe that a blackman/mexican? really cares if he runs over and kills two white men? do you realize white men are hated above all other humans? white women hate white men along with ever other race of people on the earth. i am white but have around 20 black relatives and i can promise you that if they ran you over they would swear it was your fault..and that you are a racist for dieing under their car/truck. i have census report if you need proof of my blackness..

It has a whole lot to do with, how state laws are written pertaining to the accident. It also means a lot, in how State Prosecutor Rick Bartley presents the case to the Grand Jury, Bartley makes a lot of decisions on how things swing in Pike Co.

I remember when J.P. Runyon was prosecutor, a lot of money or property or both, could sure help swing your case in your favor.
