I am considering a move to Harlingen and I have two children ages 7 & 9- very active in youth sports. what types of competitive youth sports are offered in Harlingen? Looking especially for girls fastpitch softball, baseball, football and basketball. Also- is the Hispanic population overwhelming?

Why in the world would you consider moving to such a culturally-deficient, culturally bankrupt area? As you know, it's almost all Latino but they've discarded nearly all their mexican heritage and now adopt the persona of inner-city hip-hop culture, only they're not black.
It's an urban, hip-hop society here, larger than life [yawn].
Almost noone wants to work here, and the nearby border offers an enticing future (drugs) for money-lusting people who've discarded their heritaige.
You still want to relocate here? You mine as well relocate to Afghanistan.
