Dr Harris Newman is supposed to uphold an oathe to practice medicine ethically. Because he has sworn by this oathe, and then taking advantage of women for his own sexual desires, makes him worse than any drugdealer on the streets. Why should he get no jail time? If you read the article, Stacey's sister begged him to stop giving her these drugs.
I hope this scumbag spends a nice little portion of his retirement in jail. But in todays society, top ranking officials seem to have their charges swept under the rug. This creep is still allowed to walk the streets... December 2nd cant come soon enough.

He really is a good person. Not agreeing AT ALL with what he did, but this guy has helped a lot of people over the years and has no priors. He has lost his license, can not prescribe anything ever again, will pay some hefty fines, among other punishments- but I hope he does not do jail time.

He knew exactly what he was doing. He's a doctor. He deliberately created addicts. He knows how addiction works on the brain and he knows how addicts behave. He's no dummy. Sure, he helped alot of people but that's how you stay under the radar. Only when somebody died does all the ugly truth of who he really is comes to light. Addicts make loyal patients and will do just about anything and he understands that. He could have helped Stacey as was his job. She'll never have the chance to rehabilitate herself and watch her son grow.

The family is 100% at fault. Their daughter and sister was basically a prositute and no one did anything about that? They knew she had over dosed at least twice before and did nothing about it. This family has serious issues. If you want to place blame take a look at yourself and if you feel that this doctor being charged will ease your guilt, shame on you.

A- the women who did these "favors" are no different then women selling their body on a street corner. both use what they have to get what they want.

B- this doctor is so dumb, to throw away everything you have worked for and achieved over some "favors" makes me question how smart you have to be to become a doctor. last i checked doctors make a ton of money and he should have taken himself to a bunny ranch and just paid for what he wanted without doing something illegal and gross. stories like this are why if i have a daughter she will NEVER go to a male doc bc you will never the real person, just the person they have to pretend to be

C- both of these people families should be ashamed! FAIL

You r totally wrong. Newman knew what he was doing. Arrested one day after my daughter died. He gave drugs on the side knowing what it was doing to his patients and making sure they would have to come back

You should be ashamed for not knowing what addiction does to people. It's the people selling, writing prescriptions while knowing the receiver is an addict. Go to meetings before you judge so harshly
