Thank you for featuring an article on Youth summer swimming! Your article was spot on....describing how parents (and swimmers) must keep themselves occupied for hours in anticipation of a few minutes or seconds swimming -- or watching our children swim.
It's crazy, but we do it anyway. Swimming is often overlooked in the sports pages which is a shame -- and somewhat ridiculous given the enormous popularity the it has gained over the years. We read about field hockey and baseball ad nauseam -- and those sports are dwarfed by the sheer numbers of boys and girls who swim competitively in various venues throughout the Delaware Valley.
