AHH, Yes- but if you're an insurance man you also make money off of this presumed "stupidity".
The article also does not say if he had to swerve to avoid an animal or perhaps hit something in the road - tire debris etc..
But I guess that is what Insurance men do- they expect, prepare and financially gain from the worst possible scenarios- death, fires, accidents, floods..........

These kids think that since they can "tune" these cars that they become race car drivers. Stop speeding and putting my family at risk. At least it was a one car accident. What a waste of life.

Maybe people DRIVE them like they're rocketships, but c'mon...this car with nitrous, stripped interior, and a super- or turbocharger could probably barely break out of the 14-sec 1/4 mile time - S-L-O-W C-A-R. These idiot kids put fart-can mufflers and a few stickers on these auto-trans 125 hp hatchback sh*tboxes, and all of a sudden they think they're Michael Schumacher or something. Here we see proof yet again that both the driver and the car were not up to the task. Kids - if you want to drive fast, get a real racecar (drag car, sports car, whatever) and learn how to drive it properly and safely on a real racetrack. Otherwise, please leave the rest of us out of your silly and dangerous fantasies.

You sound either very immature or very bitter. Your point about swerving to miss an animal was a good one but the snotty comments about the insurance guy were really inappropriate.

I didn't know there was a motor vehichle code in Pa. that you have to wear a "helmet" while driving a Toyota Scion. Being an insurance man, you should know all these codes. When did they make that a law? Just curious, did I miss something or are you a little "career handicapped"?

But that would put you out of a job, UNEMPLOYED, and then you would have to become an INTERNET NEWS STUPID COMMENT MAN....which has no income attached to it whatsoever....did you ever think about that?(you have the experience though)

For all of you ripping the Insurance Man. 1) You obviously can't take his sarcasim of "was he wearing a helmet" whis was an obvious reference to racing where as the RACERS wear helmuts. 2) Rip him for "making a profit when people die", I hate to burst your bubble, but he makes money when they live, pays when they die (get it right) 3) The next time you do somehting dumb, like get hit by a speed devil driver, don't call him and pay for your bills out of your OWN pocket.

I would have to say "YES", If my child was Flying down a street and put others in danger as well as himself... I'm sure I would be turned upside down with emotions, and live the rest of my day's remembering, but i'd have to say he had a death wish and would be glad he didn't take others with him!!! So how would you feel?

nothing better to do with your time, "JOE". Where did you get your engine specs and police report? Or are you just "assuming" the guy was speeding? Should never judge people unles you know them personally. Remember that.

Inappropriate? Perhaps if you profit from misery you might think that but at least they were true.
This is, without question, an industry that profits from disaster.
It is also true that I did not see anything in the article to support the (self-titled) Insurance Man's "inappropriate" comments.

Oh, yeah- I'm neither very immature or very bitter. I am, however, very critical of proclamations that are either unsubstantiated or just plain ridiculous. And yes, you can take that personally.

All of thier accounts are underwritten by the actual companies and thier respective insurers, he makes his money up front and he doesn't personally pay when the companies pay out.
It is nice to know that he's got a friend in NJ- home of some of the highest insurance in the nation.
Now don't get me wrong- I can see why he might be upset about this young man dying, his accident my actually be a negative on the usually positive margin as he didn't pay out a lot just yet. And YES- they do make money off of death. The concept of death and the fear that people have that they really can't AFFORD to die.........
