Then it's not the drivers fault, granted that they stop at the scene of the accident. That's what happened to me.

if you hit someone on accident and own up to it, its an accident. did they ever figure out if the person that hit this woman was drinking or on drugs??? the first i think when someone flees the scene is what were they doing to make them flee. btw when i was cruising through that area yesterday doing like 65 mph... i wondered was she crazy?? you would have to run across the road to guarantee safety. couldn't imagine being older and drunk. If she frequented MW like the family claims than she should have known better....

I never saw anything conclusive about that but I would imagine she was drunk. That's why you run unless you are an illegal, wanted, or stole the car. I just think it is funny how they word it. To the other poster anyone who runs over another person I would beleive has their own hell to live in. I am sorry about your accident.

I am definitely not going to blame the woman... yes she was drunk, but still.
I can't believe her daughter is trying to sue the bar!! It sounds like she is trying to get money for her grief. The woman who hit her, I understand, but not the bar.
she would get next to nothing out of the driver BUT the bar has insurance for such things and thats where the $$$ is. She had to name the driver in the suit also since that was a party to the cause of death.

We have all figured out that the family has neither the education or the ambition to lift themselves to a higher financial status so they need to sue the bar. It is a shame people don't feel like working their way up.

The business has a duty to protect any intoxicated person who enters their establishment from a forseeable injury, whether served alcohol while on the premises or not. This is why a business should purchase high Liquor Liability Insurance limits.

Isn't this case settled YET??? For cryin' out loud, who can tell when a drunk has had too much to drink? Their tolerance is so high much of the time you can't even tell they are impaired.

If you're gonna play with fire, you get burned. And if you're going to drink yourself stupid, you might DO something stupid.
