That would be a good place for you. It would fit your politics. Make sure you take your riot gear and keep an open ticket home. Save a lot of money before you go because everything is twice the cost. You will like the free medical care but hope you don't get really sick because you have a 3 month waiting list to see the doctor.
You know nothing about Europe. A Nation who is not tied to the Euro currency has much less inflation. So your "twice the cost" argument doesn't hold up. I have an excellent immune system actually, so getting sick isn't so much a worry, but thank you for your concern.

You attend a ....cough ... gag...cough..... Community college and you're going to travel abroad and study in places like Cambridge or perhaps Oxford?? HA HA HA HA!! Man you are a riot!!
HA HA! Hey Einstein who's going to pay for all this traveling and the fee's to study at such prestigious universities for you? HA!
You are some kind of a joke little boy. HE HE HE HA HA! Cant stop laughing.
I can see you now, you ole dumb hick.
"I came over here across that there ocean to study with y'all" I want to git into that thar Ox-ferd university" "I gots my B.S (BullSh##) degree frum southeastern college over thar in Ken-tuck"
HA HA HA!
Community college? HA! And you try to act like a Harvard grad?? LMBFAO! You cant spell Cambridge you idiot.
Do us all a favor and stay home because we all know to just ignore your ignorant azz. Please dont travel abroad because all you're going to do is make them think that all of us are as stupid as you are.
You do realize an ignorant coal miner's words are as sharp as a air, right? Also, you cannot get a Bachelor's degree from CC, I go to UK right now and have 3.3 GPA, and still work full time. Not all Appalachians are a dumb as its miners. In fact, many people from the mountains go on to be doctors, scientists, authors, etc. I'm sorry about your luck getting stuck in a coal mine, but the world needs mindless laborers too. I never said I wanted to go to Cambridge, that was just a suggestion from Dr. Moonshine. As for the cost, the tuition rate for a foreign university is the same as whichever university you are traveling from, they have what is called a partnership, sorry for the big word. Which is unfortunate in a way, because European Universities are less expensive than our excuses for universities. You also need to take into account that European currencies(besides the Euro) are not as inflated as our pitiful USD. For Example, 1 USD equals 7 Swedish Krona. I don't sound like you hick either, people always think I'm from the north because the way I enunciate. Wow, i just destroyed your attempt to shoot me down. You stay classy, miner man.

Squeal like pig boy! lol

I hate to burst yer bubble but NOTHING and I mean Nothing sounds more ignorant than a Hillbilly trying to "Tawlk" proper. Half their words come out all "proper" an pretty. But once in a while one of those ole Hillbilly words that you're so ashamed of will come creeping out on ye in spite of yer self. HA!

Oh and for your info. I have studied A-BROAD on several occasions. And one of the BROADS I studied was..... yer Momma!

I'm sorry Paul, but you didn't destroy an attempt to "shoot you down". You made yourself look like an arrogant ass, as you always do. Why do you insult miners & Harlan Countians? Is it just to make yourself feel good/important/intelligent? Stir the pot? You like the attention, even though it's negative attention?

Your asseverations and assumptions that no one can assimilate an equivalent or superior intellect likened unto your own is very presumptuous of you.

I want to first say that I understand that a coal miners work a very hard job that most would not even dare to work and that is fact. However, you do not deserve a pat on the back for doing what every man should do. Let me explain before you send me out on the belt.
Something that gets all over me is these young coal miners and the way they carry themselves.
First of all, a real coal miner does not ask to be placed up on a pedestal, he simply goes to work and then comes home.
A real coal miner does not wear striped pants everywhere he goes just to impress others, he actually takes them off at the mine to keep from ruining his truck seats. And he would never wear them on his day off. He’d rather dress up nice and take his family out to dinner.
A real coal miner does not decorate his entire truck with “I AM COAL MINER” stickers. One or two is fine, but not ten. If you have to tell others that you’re a coal miner then they must not be able to see it. You can tell a real coal miner by his hands, his walk and his eyes. Not the back window of his truck.
A real coal miner does not find reasons to mention that he is a coal miner in every conversation, and he does not cry out like a baby for attention. He’d rather not talk about what goes on under there when he’s up here. Because he’d never want his wife to actually know what he’s been through?
A real coal miner will never desire that his family and friends shower him with praise and respect; because he would rather see his children do something else with their lives. That is why he does what he does, so that his children don’t have to.
These young coal miners could learn a thing or two from the old timers. And that is that jobs don’t last and pay never stays the same. I see so many young coal miners spend like crazy, then turn around and loose it all.
Regardless if you are a young miner or an old timer, one thing you need to try to do is be just a bit less prideful and a bit more thankful. Coal does keep the lights on and that is true, but just because you work in the mine does not make you superman, you are just a man doing what every man should do and that is work hard for his family and earn his keep.
Again, boys... you do not deserve a pat on the back for working hard, that is what is expected of a man. Asking for such treatment kind of voids what being a real coal miner is all about.

It just makes me sick when people think that just because a person is a coal miner that they're ignorantand uneducated.

I'm a hick, a Hillbilly coal miner from Southeastern Ky. I am who I am and I dont try to change who I am. I "tawlk" with a very thick Hillbilly accent and I'm not one bit ashamed of it. But on the other hand, I can hob knob with the intellectually elite if needs be. You know the azz-holes of society?

PS. I am not one of those Mindless Labors that you spoke of.I spent 8 years in Collage,(Health And Human Services Social worker)But had to Buy my own Truck and go on the Road to just make enough Money to take Care of my Family. So the Moral of this story is,(IE) Just because you have a nice looking piece of paper,Dose not Guarantee a Job.So Get a life there Dude,And stop Picking on people.

Honestly people can talk however they want to. I personally love the accents in southern states. People in Tennessee tend to have a thicker variation than those in Kentucky. What I can't stand are those accents from the northern tip of the east coast. "Whereschya mutha?"

However it is a different matter when it comes to written English. There are people who complain about having to print government forms in Spanish as anti-American. Yet the majority of these people can barely write in English, their native language.

People tend to think having a college a degree would ensure them a job. And when they realize they can't, they'd blame college for being a waste of time.

Well the truth is, only YOU can waste your time. You go to college because there is something that you want to do. You have a goal, a dream, and aspiration to do something.

-If you go to college for the sake of going to college, you're not going to get anywhere.-

There was a post of someone having a degree in education comparing how they make more money mining coal. Well frankly, I could have told you that BEFORE you went to college. If your dream was to be a teacher, then that was a good plan. If you wanted to mine coal, then you should have just done so. If you wanted to make money, do your research before committing.

If you want to be a coal miner, by all means go ahead and be a coal miner. But when you get laid off, what do you qualify for?

A 3.5 GPA engineer gets laid off, cry boohoo for a month, and then lands a better paying job from some start up company the month later. That's the case with most of my engineering friends.

A mere college degree isn't an accomplishment. Your part in research programs that are linked to your field of study, your lab hours, your academic achievements, your GPA, your internships, your university's prestige, and your ATTITUDE are what matters to an employer.

Daily Horoscope for June 18

Scorpio

You're in a nicely emotional and loving mood today, and you'll be happiest if you can be with some of the special people in your life for at least part of the day. You don't have to do anything terribly special when you're together, either, because simply sharing a relaxing meal or watching television together will be enough. If you get talking, the conversation will turn to confidences and secrets.
