What do you remember about prices when you were young? I'll get it started. I remember when Marlboro was $13.25 per carton.

I'm only 27 when I first started driving gas was around 1.60 and people was mad then went to 2. I sure miss them days. Kesler was 8 dollars a fifth don't miss it much though. All I could afford at the bagging my senior year.

When I was a lad prowling the streets of Harlan. I could eat out at Chreechs for about $2.50. Thats was back when Harlan independent allowed the students to go down town for lunch.

I remember when we stopped on the way home from Sunday school and took a dollar in the store and bought a 16 oz. returnable bottle of RC, a Hershey's bar and a bag of Grippos, and still had change left over to get penny candy. Those were the days!

When I was in high school gas fluctuated between .80 cents and $1.00 a gallon. This was during Bill Clinton's second term. In all fairness though, gas hadn't been that low since the 70's. It hasn't dropped again since. It goes up until people freak out then it drops just enough to make everyone think "$3.00 a gallon ain't so bad". Thin every 6 months they test the water again to see how much people will tolerate. Every time this happens people are pleased when the price goes down even though it didn't go back down to what it was. People are cattle and every election proves that.

Sorry that I hijacked the thread!

I remember gasoline being 26 cents a gallon, and I could drive around a week on $2.00 worth.

I also remember my very first post on here that caused a feud worse than the Hatfield's and McCoy's. lmao
