Screw all you all that DONT support coal. how dumb can you be I mean really? DO you really think you will be able to afford other types of energy??? I Know you wont be able too. There are thousands of people losing jobs because the government wants to take our rights away, take our jobs away, make things so expensive that we cant afford them so everyone in the country has to be dependent on the government. You wait and see, if we the people, do not do anything about it, there will be another Hitler. So like I said before SCREW EVERYONE THAT DOES NOT SUPPORT COAL! you seriously need help.

They're in the same place they were in 2008 when millions of people got laid off while Big Daddy Bush was president. They're in the mines making sure the last 20 years of their life won't be worth $hit.
When President Bush was in office there was more people working than I ever remember. Coal mining boomed all 8 years :) I made more money then and not once was I wondering if I would be layed off and I never did. Bush also cut welfare so thats probably the problem. lol. You got it back with Obama while the working man has to suffer. Good luck.

HAHA...You have to be joking?! If anything is true, power companies (KU) use coal, and non-renewable resource to jack up energy prices AKA OUR energy bill. A person that uses our Sun, the most powerful resource in our galaxy, to light and heat their home is an INDEPENDENT person. A person that doesn't give a F*ck if KU raises prices. How about a person that grows their own food too??? That's like giving the finger to the grocery stores' rising prices and industrial farms growing GMO. Wake up Appalachia and be the independent people your grand fathers were! You're better than government welfare and subsidized housing; take back YOUR land from the coal barons!!!

they would have a A.P.B.out on a flying bed. could see the old guy at the station when the call came in.in pursuit of a bed .he would have ever one on the force looking for that cop thinking he had lost his mind. even so they would never be able to figure out who i was .they only be looking at the bed.and a shock like that they never would be able to figure out who was laying in the bed anyways. in less than 5 seconds you could be past the red light and court house.so they be in shock for sure.for at least 30 seconds. that's time be gone ...

One undeniable fact that nobody seems to notice: The coal industry has been declining steadily for 70 years and the population of Harlan County has steadily declined with it. In 1940, the population of harlan county was over 75,000 people. In 2010, it was around 29,000. That's a population loss of 46,000 people, an average 10.4% loss per decade. I have no sage advice to share, no blame to place and no accolades to offer, just the bare fact that the industry is dying and the region is dying with it. Best of luck to the miners and their families.

I bet everyone is loving the warm weather.if no one is using their heaters, the electric company is not burning a lot of coal. So when they have a stockpile and don't order anymore for awhile and we hear about layoffs this is the reason. The weather

Oooh burn...dumocrats.

Learn how to argue like someone who actually has something to say.

PS. I'm a republican who thinks laborers should be working for minimum wage. If you want to make a decent wage then get an education.
