Kentucky and 15 other states have signed a petition to recede from the USA. Have you ever seen our country more divided? Sounds like the south is actually rising again... What are your thoughts on this?

Actually it does, Texas has done raised over 25,000 signatures and that's all that is required for it to be considered... Or to have the president pay attention to it rather. Just to clarify do I think this is going to happen? No I don't our government would ever allow it... nor would i want them to... My point was though look at how divided we are. This is how civil wars start.

Obama has succeeded in riping the nation right down the middle.

And he placed the unity of the nation in jeopardy just to remain in power.

Why is it that when conservatives don't get their way, they want to leave. But when liberals don't get their way, they regroup and figure out how to go on? We survived Bush - you will survive Obama.

Even more telling is the fact that these petitions show complete ignorance of the fact that being allowed to leave the Union would grant them INSTANT third world status. Cut the power lines from adjacent US states. Cut the roads. Put up a fence (and you thought Mexico should have a fence). Have export and import taxes on your food, and water sources. Have your healthcare benefits cut because your state can't afford to give you benefits anymore.

Oddly, those states wanting to sucede are the VERY ones who get the most federal money. Realistically, the only state that could afford to do so is Texas.

Yet more "my way or the highway" mentality from conservatives.

Obama did no such a thing. Reality check: America's voice (i.e. the voting American CITIZENS) CHOSE him. Under any other circumstance, you seem quite happy with majority/mob rule.

That is called Democracy in action. We just have a ton of spoiled white old men and women having a hissy because they didn't get their way.

You can tell more about the character of people by the way they deal with defeat than you can victory. And from what we are seeing, they have no character.

However an actual Civil War is not going to happen in my opinion.(I sure hope and pray that it doesn't ever happen)

But I would not be surprised to begin witnessing some very loud and perhaps even violent protest to start erupting all over the nation.

We are undeniably a divided nation. And if you looked at the electoral map, it seemed that the biggest divide was the larger populations against the more rural areas of the country. The more Southern country parts of the nation seemed to be overwhelmingly Pro-Romney. While the more densely populated areas of the nation were carried by Obama.

Yes we are divided like no other time in my lifetime anyway. And I dont think anyone (Republican or Democrat) posses the knowledge or wisdom on how to begin healing the wound. The divide is too deep and the belligerents are too far apart to meet at a reasonable accord.

There's nothing lower on the face of the earth than a liberal democrat.....what got Nobama back in was the Latinos, blacks, Mexicans and the ones that think they are suppose to get a free ride in this country....when it's all gone, what are you idiots gonna do? Pack up and move someplace else? Cause it's gonna fall, the country cannot support all these freeloaders but can't tell the bleeding hearts that and the ner do wells.....this country is swirling the drain and heading to socialism and ONE party. Guess that's what the majority that have moved here and now outnumber us want.

A political defeat is not the problem here.

What you fail to acknowledge or realize is that Obama's plans cripple many industries that employee hundred of thousands of people. This is not about politics. Or not having a chosen candidate in office. This is about Americans having their lively hood taken away. Being forced to leave the places they were born and raised in to search for work. Undue suffering by a government who will not listen to the cries of the oppressed but continually restricts the ability of the people to support their families.

If you're going to fight about this, at least learn what the true argument is!

i have never heard of such thing what about how people can just set back and tell lie after lie and make their self believe it and then try make other believe it. the only thing about some states was thinking about opting out was not leave the union dummy's it was for the Obama care.the health plan and they have that option in the plan.but they only have a certain time get their plans in which non has done yet and if they don't then the gov .will come in and put it in play for them.its federal law.what about how people can try blow things up .ha edits the election over you lost. go find a job somewhere, quit crying try do something if you don't you going loose what little brains you have.

Once again this s NOT about being conservative or a liberal. This is about a PEOPLE!

And I see you are very ignorant about how an actual civil war would take place. The South is NOT a bunch of poorly clad, under equipped, uneducated, barefoot, tobacco chewers, anymore. Matter of a fact the South is probably the most economically powerful region of the Union. And if civil war did break out the seceding states would Align themselves with one another. As for finance you print your OWN money, you establish your own industries, and choose your own capitol. You supply your OWN weapons of war. The South is VERY capable of becoming self sustaining. And lets not forget that many foreign nations would be chomping at the bit to throw in with the opposition to the status quo!

But I am sure these things will never happen. I dont think our law makers are stupid enough to allow things to progress to such extremes.

Did you realize that England came dang near to throwing in with the South during the first civil war?

Mamamia!!!!! Que loco estan estos Rednecks;
This series of cesession petitions are nothing more than DHS lists of subversives, electively compiled! Everyone who signed has voluntarily declared themselves enemies of the United States.

Now they have the names and signatures of thousands of known subversives who can be legally detained indefinitely as enemies of the state in case of unrest.

Its like a government prosecutor's wet dream.

Fox News has made available a hotline, where those committed to mental institutions, can vote in favor of this petition by dialing 80000 Nuts.

That is actually a very good response. I agree with you 100%!

People better be dang careful what they sign.

I for one would rather do without than to ever witness Americans killing Americans on a battle field.

I think this whole thing is bull shit and yes it is about the Conservatives not getting there way.. and for the one person who said there is nothing lower than a liberal democrat you need to check yourself just because some has a different opinion than you do does not make them low as you called it. conservatives where the people who wanted slavery and liberals wanted everyone to be equal. so if you ask me I think wanting slavery was low. I think wanting everyone to go by your bible is low and I think bitching about not getting your way is low. not saying you are low of course just saying the way you think is low. go ahead call me stupid or ignorant or something because that is the only thing people on the web site know how to say. it is never a polite debate it's always well than I think you are dumb but if that is the worst thing you are gonna say to me don't waste your time because I already know what people say on here.

O.K I will try not to disrespect you.(Unlike most Liberals who dont respect anything)

But I will say this. I do not think this is about party affiliation whatsoever. I know for a fact that political party alignment had NOTHING to do with my decision.

This is about what most perceive to be crippling job killing regulations that have been levied against coal miners and others around the nation. I have voted democrat on several occasions. It just so happens that this democratic president is out to kill coal mining. And basically anything to do with traditional energy sources. And his regulations have had a very negative affect on thousands of peoples lives around this nation.

You might want to check your facts concerning slavery. Republicans were the ones that abolished slavery. The president of the Confederacy Jefferson Davis, who was for slavery, was a Democrat. This is one of the biggest mistakes people make about Republicans.

I am neither Democrat nor Republican however I am for the people and happen to agree with what Raw has been saying. Facts are facts.

well I am a liberal and I always try not to be disrespectful. but Obama never said he was wanting to get rid of coal completely he said he wanted to try and find other sources of energy that was more environmental friendly. I understand people are upset about the coal thing and I am not completely against coal but I do think we could mix in some other sources of energy. people think we are gonna be sitting in the dark which is far from the truth look at California they get there energy from some nature gasses along with wind, solar and water power and they are one of the brightest places in the world. I am saying if we could mix some of this in with coal we would still have energy and we would still have jobs and our air would be a lot more cleaner.
