would it be considered child abuse to make a child sit for long periods of time with their arms up over their heads?

It would be abuse to make an adult to sit for long periods of time with their arms held over their heads!!!
Why in the world would you want to do a CHILD this away!! Don't get me wrong, I believe in making a child obey rules, learn respect, but hold their arms over their head? I wonder if the adult that did this could hold their arms over their head for the same amount of time, without it really hurting them? Lord have mercy on our little children who suffer undo punishment just because the adult thinks it is a good ideal.

What a stupid question. Really, you should not have to ask that.
I'm all for discipline, but some forms of it are just ridiculous and yes I'm sure you could get in trouble for that.

My son gets whooped with a metal belt by his dad and still has to go see him so apparently they do not care until a child ends up in the hospital.

Depending on the age a small child say from 1_10 yes but a teen no because he or she would get the same displin in sports and such he can make them remember for the next time and build strenth.
As for a metal belt do you mean a belt with metal things on it because I have never seen a whole belt made of metal but if you woop a child with anything other than your had on the bottom well that person need a canepole took ro his back see how he likes it .

It's a belt with metal studs in it. My son is 8 and weighs 60 lbs. there is no need to whoop him like that. Discipline is one thing abuse is another.

How old is the child? What did the child do to get punished? It's one of those personal preference things. Maybe the person doesn't whip the child because they don't wont to hit them. If the child is being disciplined then all I can say is that parent is trying, most don't make their children responsible for their actions.

I have not just sit and done nothing. Social services and the state police are involved with an epo in place. But this has happened before all he had to do was take a parenting class and my son had to go back. But hopefully this being the second time it has happened he will not have to go back.

ummm well let them put their arms down and make them keep them in there laps or something, It seems cruel to make them hold them over their heads and it will hurt the circulation.
