I have a Coleman electric furnace, a 3400a816 model, that is acting up. It works fine but the elements come on and off constantly. Even when it is not cold enough for them to cut on. When it is cold enough to come on it works fine. I don't think the elements should do that. I have the breaker off until I fix this problem. Pretty sure it might be the relay sequencer. Any ideas?

Thanks for the info. My wife doesn't want to get a goodman gas furnace because we already have a furnace, but it hardly works. She'll probably give in when it breaks down completely because she gets cold easily.

I have some experience at this,if it has buss fuses check those 1'st; Make sure the pullout disconnect is not short circuited,You can tell by the bridge on it;Visible burnt marks.on fuses etc.plastic deformity will make a difference!MAKE SURE YOU HAVE NO POWER TO THE UNIT WHEN YOU PULL THE BUILT IN DISCONNECT IT CAN ELECTROCUTE YOU!If this don't fix it, mabey it's the thermostat or the wires going to it.The best place I found to get pts. on sookie ridge.By old country str.

If you back off the thermostat and it still comes on, check the wires that go from the furnace to the thermostat. They could be shorting together.
