Hey Jimmy boy

How ya feel about the government's use of drones on AMERICANS?

I figured someone like you who seems ready and willing to jump on any conspiracy theory would be frightened to death at this news.

The U.S has used drones (Obama approved) to kill AMERICANS! Does that bother you?

Are we heading down the road to a future where we are spied on, monitored, controlled and possibly attacked by a "Big Brother" government?

Does this power that is currently being utilized by our nation against our own citizens frighten you? Don't you think that sooner or later this power will be abused and innocent Americans will lose their lives because of it?

Look out Jim! Whats that strange "Droning" sound?

Better look out Jim that big old bald noggin of yers makes one heck of a target!

O.K I may not be on the same level intellectually as oh say.... Einstein.... Close but not quite.

But what in the hey does the fact that drones are attacking Americans have to do with the election?

This is about the possibility of a military mechanism (Supposedly limited for the use of war alone) being used against the private citizen. It has nothing to do with who is in power!

Any president, or any other politician of power would be tempted to use these drones to their advantage. It has nothing to do with Obama singularly. This is about the government as a whole. Anyone who becomes president will have access and control of these machines.

I saw a drone 2 nights ago in Wallins. I had no knowledge of drones until I saw it. I don't watch the news. To say they are eerie is an understatement. Have you seen any around Harlan, Raw?

How ya feel about the government's use of drones on AMERICANS?.......>They were also used during the Bush Administration. I think at that time, there were only 80 drones. Now, 7,000 or so. Personally, I do not like it at all....IF, and only if innocent Americans are killed.

I figured someone like you who seems ready and willing to jump on any conspiracy theory would be frightened to death at this news......>Sorry to disappoint you, but I am not afraid of this news. Are you? I do not jump on "any" conspiracy theories as you falsely claim.

The U.S has used drones (Obama approved) to kill AMERICANS! Does that bother you?.........>Not if those so called "Americans" were committing the crime of treason against America.

Are we heading down the road to a future where we are spied on, monitored, controlled and possibly attacked by a "Big Brother" government?.........>We have been for a long time Raw. Technology is making it easier. That's another reason you need to prep if you are scared of "Big Brother" as you stated.

Does this power that is currently being utilized by our nation against our own citizens frighten you?.........>I'll say I'm not thrilled about it, but scared? No.

Don't you think that sooner or later this power will be abused and innocent Americans will lose their lives because of it?.......>I cannot answer that, because it would only be speculative on my part, or pure conjecture. Time will tell. That would be like me asking you, will any coal miners be killed in the mining company you work for?

Look out Jim! Whats that strange "Droning" sound?........>You tell me since I do not hear what you think you hear in that coal dust filled head of yours.

Better look out Jim that big old bald noggin of yers makes one heck of a target!.........>I bet I have more hair than you do Einstein.

Yeah, the truth is often boring for sure.

I need a haircut today. My wife says she's about to put it in a pony tail. I really do have a lot of hair, but not on my butt, or back. ha

Raw, buy the book "One Second After." Even if you don't like to read, I know you would love this one. I'm reading about 5 books right now, and it hard to do that, plus fooling with Topix, not counting my real life.

Not complaining, just saying.

We don't know yet.

I doubt if we'll have a country in 50 more years the way things are going.

The government of United States of America has used drones to attack and kill Americans abroad that have been "SUSPECTED" (Suspected. NOT proven guilty) of terrorist activity.

The killing of these Americans citizens has been approved by the powers that be in Washington. Mainly president Obama.

And some law makers want to allow the use of drones on the American main land.

If you dont know what these drones are. They are small remote control military planes that can be armed with an array of weapons. They were developed mainly for surveillance but they can be used to attack also.

Don't like to read? HA

I have probably read more books than you have seen.

But my interest lies in the arena of fiction. I do not care much for works of Non-fiction. Because one, they are dang boring and two. I do not put much faith in works of conjectural theories nor do I believe in the infallibility of your so called experts. One simple fact that has been proven time and again all down through history is that most of the experts theories are sooner or later proven to be wrong. Just becuase a man has a piece of paper from an institute of higher learning that claims he's got some smarts does not mean that that person possess any true wisdom. Sometimes those who are supposedly highly educated are as dumb as a wet bag of hammers. What you call expert analysis, data, I call just another mans opinions. Not too long ago the seemingly wisest men on the planet swore that the Earth was flat and they were 100% positive of that fact. And now every first grader in the world knows that that is not true.

The only Non-fiction, I enjoy are books and articles of history (Mainly WWII. There is something about that era that completely amazes me. And I also love reading about the history of the ancients)and the occasional biography. And I would bet that most biographies are about 50% fiction. because who is going to allow something to be published that puts them in a bad light.

With me it's.

Doyle
Carver
Henry
King
Dickens
Washington
Stoker... etc

"Call me Ismael" HA!

One of the greatest opening lines ever. Simple but amazingly affective huh?

You can keep those Non fiction works of your so-called experts.

Hey good point.

But I myself do not read articles about WW2 that were written by the victors only.

I also enjoy reading articles and books written by former soldiers that served the axis powers. I have read books such as Mein Kampf
in an attempt to better understand just exactly what kind of person Hitler was. I do not put all of my faith in how American and English writers portray the events of WW2. I try to take in all the info I can from BOTH sides and then draw my own conclusions about the events of that era.

But you do make have valid and interesting point.

Just to validate that point of view.

I knew a Russian who had escaped to the U.S.

And he told me that in Russia no one even knew that American was involved with World War Two at all. They were taught and firmly believed from childhood up, that Russia did it all. So what you say is very true. The victors will usually portray themselves as the great heroes and are very reluctant to publish anything repulsive or negative about their own.

Such as with Japan. They still to this day vehemently deny the accusations of war crimes supposedly committed by their soldiers against the Chinese. So sometimes finding the TRUTH is a lot more complicated than we realize.

There are no doubt many men that we have been taught from our youth onward were great American heroes that were probably vile, evil, cowards.

Could you imagine what a history of the American revolution would read like if America would have lost the war? It would have been a book praising the heroics of the British soldiers putting down an evil uprising. And instead of calling George Washington father of our country we would be calling him and his gang of founding fathers the greatest traitors of all time.

The book I recommended: "One Second After" never makes the claim it is nonfiction. In fact, it is nonfiction, but could very well happen.

This book has been read by many in Congress, and the Forward was written by Newt Gingrich himself.

It's a good 21st Century read.

If I could recommend a fiction that should be read as a non-fiction, it would be George Orwell's 1984. Sorry, I'm veering away from the thread. I'll shut up.
