What is up with this? Isn't there a rule against this?

Why would this be a problem, when Charles Thomas was in school there it was ok to play up. This situation is so typical of the over involved parents at HHS, that can't ever seem to let the coaches do there job, always over stepping into someones program. There is know reason for this to be a problem, when there is only 6-7 players on the JV team and the five 8th grade players were there to be able to have some substitutes to give the starters a break. HHS PARENTS QUIT TRYING TO PROTECT YOUR KIDS FROM THE REALITIES OF THIS COLD CRUEL WORLD! IF YOU CAN PLAY THEN YOU PLAY IF YOU CAN'T THEN MOM AND DAD SHOULD LET IT GO.

I agree...the players that can play will play...period. Let the coach make those decisions. I haven;t even been to a game yet, but ill guarantee you that Harlan Grad has a h.s. student that isn't as good as these 8th graders and they're pissed.

If you've seen them play, you would have to agree that a couple of the 8th graders are better ball players than some on the high school team!

Players play...Coaches coach...Fans cheer...Parents need to get out of the way and let the coaches handle their business

Last night was an interesting evening given this subject has came up, the team that the boys HHS varsity were to play didn't have a JV team so the early game was an intersquad game using the Harlan JV players and the 5 or so 8th graders in question. The biggest thing I saw from having these two groups play was the 8th graders were a much better group on the floor in basketball fundamwmtialw and in total sports IQ. So it's plain to see that these parents realize that they cannot out play the younger group, so let's start a policy to protect my jr cause he can't compete. Cudos to Coach Parks for not giving in to the wishes of a select few.

I couldn't agree more. They are better! This is a fact that everyone already knows. The problem is these 2 or 3 eighth graders are getting cheated. After the complaints started rolling in the coach decided to just "play everyone". So, they play in increments of 3 minutes. What a shame! From what i've been told, its only one parent complaining. I say send this MAN packing. He always has his nose in everything. You know who you are...Shame on You!!!!

I think that they should be fair in all the sports including football!!! There should not be just certain quarterbacks, everyone on the team should get to play quarterback. Everyone should be able to be a running back. If they run out of time, while switching everyone out, then the ones not getting to play, should get to start the next game. I mean, if its fair for one then it should be fair for all!!!

If this is true, then there is something wrong with it. Especially if you cut high school girls and allow an 8th grader to take her spot. But I'm told this is false and that it never happened. If you know it happened, please provide a name. I'd like to look it up and find out.

This statement make it quite apparent that you know nothing about the game of football. Really? Bet with all this "fair" talk that you voted for Oboma and get your "fair" check every month.
