There is a student that is foreign attending an elementary school in Harker Heights. She was supposed to be moved into 5th grade, because she completed 4th in Florida. Once she attended school there she was placed in 3rd grade, because the school felt her English was off. She speaks English fine, and now is told that she will repeat 4th grade, because the school has a reputation with retired military officers grand-kids. That there is a social class that needs to be maintained. It is one of the local PUBLIC schools. The school also tried to involve themselves in the child's parent's personal life and hold it against the studen. I was wondering what policy stands in affect to withold a student from progressing who has no failing grades, speaks English, also has an officer step-father, and a mother with a green card, that is fake in the school's eyes.
