Killeen to see nation's 3rd largest growth in households
KILLEEN The Killeen-Temple-Fort Hood area is projected to experience the nation's third largest percentage growth in households over the next five years, according to Pitney Bowes Software's inaugural Metro Magnets Index.

Why? There isnt any industry here. Why would households move here? Fort Hood will be downsizing sa the wars come to a close.

There is industry in Belton and Temple. A little bit in Lampasas and Gatesville. People commute to those areas, but live in our area. Also people are retiring here cause they like the area and the lower cost of living compared to other states. The medical field is growing so they need to hire lots of people. Everything that is built creates jobs. For example the power plant in temple that is under construction will create jobs. When Darnell Hospital is done with construction they will need to hire more people. That's why the area is growing.
