Chance Keller would rob anybody anywhere no questions asked. He needs to be off the streets. I can't believe he made it free this long . I heard he was murdered in Galveston and now to see this. He has murdered a loved one of many. I'm no judge but this guy needs to never come home

I grew up with this guy, he was a year older than me. As long as I've known him he's been a bully and just a bad kid in general. It is no surprise that I see a news article about him years later. He finally where he belongs. Good riddance, one less piece of trash on this Earth.

@ John P: It is so easy to cast stones at those without walking a mile in their shoes. I myself, have know Chance my entire life and yes, he has not been the best role model and sadly, him being a misguided child is correct. However, his childhood was anything but perfect. I will neither try to justify his behavior nor explain to you why Chance made these decisions, but I will say you have no idea how you would react to life if you had his childhood. We all respond differently to life and the good and the bad in it, unfortunately, Chance made a horrible decision that cost someone else his life which can never be undone. I do not condone what he did, but I have more insight to his family life then you and I know he didn't have the best upbringing. Just as you, he was once a beautiful, innocent little boy who, unfotunately, did not get the guidance he needed in life to make the moral decision in this situation. I feel for the victims family, but I also feel for Chance and his family. Chance has to live with this horrible guilt the rest of his life. As I stated, I am not taking anything away from the victim, just pointing out that when people are like Chance, there is usually something horrible they are trying to bury from childhood and sometimes it gets the better of them. Some people are born truly evil, Chance was not. Please try to think of all the aspects before judging so harshly.

Ashley, shut up with your bleeding heart garbage. He was mistreated as a child. Wah Wah Wah. People use stuff as an excuse to try to put the blame on others for their actions. It was his choice and no one else's. He did it. He's the one who decided to do the things he did. He knew right from wrong and still did it. There is no excuse if you know it's wrong.

that is not ghetto. i have a degree and have a good job and am no where near (ghetto) i talk to chance all the time and i talk to the people investigating the case and if you really knew what happened you probably wouldn't be saying the stuff you are saying. and who are you to say that you are someone so perfect?

and as for saying something about Stevie being dead and mocking it, i didn't stevie was my friend one of my good friends. i just really believe chance didnt do it. there is always so much more to the story than the news offers.

I didnt mean to come across as an ignorant person.i too had a horrible childhood that led to bad choices.Drugd being # one.i met chance in A mental hospital and he managed to make me feel i would be ok.I went from a deep depression to having a buddy that took walks with me and made me laugh daily. The day he told me his mom was coming for him to try and get him released he was like a small child.so excited not in getting out but about knowing his mim cared.we agreed to meet in waco when i was released.i soon drove to waco hoping to see the chance i got to know. The first night i was there he was with the kind of people you can only call your friends after a few bars and a few lines of coke.He wasnt the chance i got to know. The entire next week got worse especially. After having contact with his mom and dad.I left waxo in a cop car and was admitted back into ash.im sorry for speaking on something i know nothing about.i wasnt there to know who took his life.i was judging based on my anger never understanding how a person capable of taking my most sad days and filling them with laughs and evening walks could turn into the most cold mean and untrusting stranger.i know having the love of your mom and dad means alot and i thinl hes missing a few important parts of what we need in life.i wish he would of gone on to do great things in his life.im sorry if i offended you.i should judge anyone because i too am far from perfect.

Oh no sis he won't get off that easy for murder and aggravated robbery? People make mistakes huh? And you believe he grew from his experiences and learned from them? I bet the only thing he learns he is toast when he get's his sentence. How can you defend him? What if this were your husband, child or one of your siblings or one of your parents he killed? Or even one of your friends? Are you even able to put yourself in the position of a loved one being killed due to this lunatic? I believe you have to be a psycopath to have no more compassion than that for other people. How dare you come on here and defend this low-life scum. You feel sorry for him go be with him but do not defend him here! Rott in hell!

Oh no you don't there will be no pity party for this monster. I bet he didn't have the bad family life I did. No one could have had worse than I and my 2 brothers and everything we saw and felt. That is no excuse to blame it on family. It sounds like he has a lot of enablers that still put up with him after all he has done murder and aggrevated robbery. YOU ARE TAKING FROM THE VICTIMS FAMILY!!!!!!! Do you have anyone in the world that you love? Just imagine them dead! And you have no idea if he feels guilt or not so shut up the nonsense and how can you say some people are born truely evil and he was not? Everyone is sorry after they get caught. If he was truely sorry, he would know that the best thing that could happen to him is to be sentenced for this crime to the highest punishment with no contest. You know nothing so shut up with the lies to defend a murderer!

Yup it's going to get done and there will be no one caring if you like it or not and it will not matter! Furthermore, I will not be the only one that you should think about happening upon either that will deal with you and not care if you like it or not! I'm not like the poor young kid that didn't see it coming either that he killed and you are going to call Chance good hearted and say all these good things about him because you are just his kind. That's cause you are not sin free either and how bout you shut the hell up permanently and shut the fk up too and no body gives one crap how good and personal you are with his family! They will be calling him names to your stupid face! Oh I know you are not shaking scared right now when you see my name because I know that you sorry low-life scums prey after people you can hurt but it's not going to be who you think it will be.

TRASH SUCH AS THIS NEEDS TO BE PUT TO DEATH!

Man Charged With Murder In One City Arraigned For Robbery In Another

Chance Keller (Jail photo)

WACO (April 20, 2012)--A Waco man who is charged in connection with a deadly shooting in Belton murder was arraigned Friday for a robbery in Waco that involved a shooting, although no one was hit.

Chance Deallen Keller, 25, was arraigned in 19th District Court in connection with the Feb. 25 robbery in Waco during which police say a shot was fired at the victim that did not hit her.

Judge Ralph Strother set another hearing on the robbery charge for June 22.

Keller was being held in McLennan County Jail in Waco on the robbery charge when Belton police served him with an arrest warrant on the murder charge.

Waco police Sgt. W. Patrick Swanton said Keller was at a home in the 3300 block of Ethel and while there tried to sell some merchandise to a woman who lived there.

Swanton said the woman believed the merchandise was stolen and refused to buy it.

When she did so, Keller became angry and tried to grab her purse.

The woman screamed for her son who was in another room and that frightened Keller, who ran from the house.

Swanton said as Keller was running he pulled a pistol and fired a shot at the woman, although he did not hit her.

Keller was arrested on a warrant about a week later, Swanton said.

Then on March 29, Belton police announced they had served an arrest warrant on Keller in the Feb. 26 shooting death of Stephen Wright, 20, whose body was found on the front porch of his home in the 400 block of West 7th Avenue.

Wright was shot once in the torso.

Bond on the murder charge was set at $1 million.

Belton Police Chief Gene Ellis said a relative found Wright's body at around 3 p.m. on Feb. 26 on the porch of the home.

Bell County Justice of the Peace Don Engleking pronounced Wright dead.

Neighbor Nikki Sparks said Wright was a hard worker and a friend of many.

"(He was) really a nice young man. He came over and helped work in my yard a number of times we'd work out here doing some landscaping and I think we spent about three days out here all day just talking," Sparks said.

Sparks said Wright talked about going to college and wanted to get a job he enjoyed.
