LOL, if you could get someone sued for what is said on here I am sure Texstar would be suing, they have a bad Rep for sure.

There are too many factors that go into you reading what is here. First of all you come here of your own free will and chose to participate or not. You can not like what someone says and that's fine. But taking someone to criminal court based solely on their opinion posted on a public forum intended for that purpose is ludicrous. I know several prosecutors and I don't know one of them that would take this case to criminal court. Now...if you want to try dabbling in the civil court world..have at it.

You're still faced with that whole burden of proof thing though and that in itself can bury you in a case such as this would be.

If you don't like what people are saying you have the choice to close your web browser or type something else into the address bar. If you're offended because someone is exercising their 1st ammendment right then I suggest you find somewhere else to go.

Ernie's seemed to have a mix of white, black and Spanish customers. Why does everything around here have to be race based? As I read what happened, it sucks, but its one of those things. Its off limits to Soldiers for the time being, so Crucial, you won't be running into soldiers there. I would think, he has cleaned out his staff and is trying to get the ban lifted, therefore IF you showed up with even the slightest attitude looking for a fight, I would think you would get asked to leave quickly.

They didn't handle it correctly, enought said about that, if there is wrong doing, then charge them and let the justice system sort it out. The bar got closed and as far as I know now it hasn't reopened, if it does, it most likely won't be under the same name. If you wannt to go out and party at a bar in either Harker Heights or in Killeen, you take your chances in regards to bouncers and so forth, there are no LEGAL guidelines for bouncers in Texas, and there should be, due to the number of deaths caused by them; not only in this area, but all over the state. I think that needs to be addressed more than anything else. People have no right to get hired to work in a bar as a bouncer and be able to beat people half or all the way to death, even if they are bugging people selling CD's. Has anyone seen anybody trying to sell CD's like that lately? They were really bad for awhile, but seem to have tapered off lately. It don't matter if it's a military town or a town like D/FW or even Houston, beating on people is illegal if done outside of a bar, why not make it illegal if it's done in a bar? Even "rent-a-cops" have to have training before they go to work in this state!

Ok, with all this stuff at Ernie's. The bouncers are only allowed to control the people at the door and inside the buisness. Someone selling CD's is the Police's problem. Ernie could have the individual Criminal Tresspass warned from the property. Also, selling CD's is not solitation unless he is going from door to door, so that is not even illegal. Even if he was going door to door all he needed to do was get a permit though the city. Either way, that is only a Class C misdemeanor. The bouncers had absolutely no right to even touch the guy because he was outside the club. As far as the Harker Heights Police Department goes, he has a bunch of the Officers in the pocket. I saw a fight happen and Ernie was telling officers which ones he wanted arrested because they were bystanders and Ernie just wanted them out of there. Like I said, if someone is drunk and unruely, the bouncers are only authorized to get them outside, then let the cops handle them. But hey, first the cops need to quit chillin at the police department, drive by there at night, you will see most of the police cars sitting at the pd waisting taxpayers gas. Bottom line, the bouncers have no right to have anything to do with someone selling CD's at Ernie's, maybe they shoulda called the cops instead of killing the guy. Oh, I forgot, Ernie runs Heights, the cops probably told him to handle it himself.

It's the same ol' crap, even if something does happen to these bouncers and the bar found liable, they will file for bankruptcy and just burn it down later for the insurance money. The City Government has been doing that for years and everyone gets their pockets lined. Just think of all the "Arson" cases at bars and clubs and nobody ever caught....

I have been to that place three times and I won't go back!
The staff is far from friendly I was escorted out the last time by a three gym rat bouncers, I am 5'2 and hardly 130 pounds, female.....why did it take three? I went to the rest room with my girls we was in there maybe 5 minutes putting on make-up stepped out of the rest room and was escorted out. We have no idea to this day but they were really brutal. The one dude actually shoved me in the back pushing us to the door. We had maybe 2 beers if that....anyway so I called the owner and nothing but bla blah blah .....my point is this, if they will do this to a girl imagine what they would do to another guy!
The other two times I went I don't remember nothing after talking to one of the male bouncers and leaving my beer with him. That night ended me in the ER and having been drugged. I won't ever go to that place agian nothing but bad comes from there! I know for a fact one of the oldest bouncers deals coke from the club most of the time!

I heard there have been some indictments this week does anyone know the names and charges? I hope the family has sued. I'm sorry for the loss of your loved one. Money will not bring him back but it will shut down the bar.

My husband is stationed at Ft Hood and we go to Ernie's a lot...I can't believe this happened there. It's such a fun club, and the staff was always really friendly. Even the bouncers...my husband's friend was really drunk one night and they kicked him out, but they weren't trying to fight him or anything. They just told my husband that he had to leave and I closed his tab, and they walked us out. Honestly, I have a hard time believing that this wasn't an accident. The post above mine made a good point. If he really was that heavy maybe there were other factors that lead to his death.
