Does anyone in the area still collect coal mining stickers. They were a very big thing back in the mid eighties. Have some to trade if anyone is interested.

That was a short lived fad hobby. I never saw any value being generated in sosmething you could get for free.

Hold on to em now however, when all the mines shut down they may be as valuable and rare as script.

I did not ask for your opinion on them, I just wanted to know if anyone else collected them. And yes they may have been a fad, but like everything else I enjoyed collecting them and have quite a few that are rare now because a lot of the mines are gone. Thanks for the opinion anyway. But if you look on ebay, people are still collecting them....

I collect them. And so does my sister-in-law.
And yes, some of them are very rare beings the mines are closing. And maybe someday those freebee stickers just might be worth something.=]

Opinions are like A hole's, everybody has got one and it's a public forum so you get free ones on here from time to time. Didn't mean to hurt your feelings, if collecting sticky back paper makes you happey, go for it. I collect naval lint and am sure it will be worth somthing one of these days.

Probably more that the give away stickers....lol

Acouple of months ago. I was offered 50.00 for one sticker. It was of a local coal mines that is no longer in business. I did'nt sell it because it holds sentimental value for me..

Yes, if you are good at it this will over time give you a decent return on your investment while you enjoy your hobby. Baseball Cards are national and it is America's number one sport. This is fun and if you are savvy will probably make some money on some of those. The stickers are regional, coal fields. Not enough interst except for in the coal fields, for profit. If you like it though don't let me keep you ffrom it. Just joking with you.

I am not interested in trading. I started my collection when I began mining. Years ago the rumor was they were to be valuable. Just a curosity thing.
