Ugly and not an official site of Main Street I bet because the board did not approve it.
Yeah!
wth?How many websites are you going to launch for Hardy? WTH?
Its nice to have a website that will be actually about HARDY. Expecially one that will have local NEWS and EVENTS updated.
We would be happy to address your concerns, could you be more specific of what you don't like. We are open for changes because we are actively monitoring and developing the site to help promote the town of HARDY and importantly the Business's in the town and local area. Although we are not the official Hardy website..We are different in that we will promote current local news and events as they happen and make the site interactive too with the new forums.
We want to improve the recognition of the town, grow its tourism and most importantly drive new business to the town. There are to many empty buildings in the the town, and we want to see them full. |

Learn proper english and Hardy is a city and has been for many many years getting informed will be your first step.

I find the background (behind the page itself) busy and a waste of space. The content looks great--I'm not crazy about the colors, but I think you've done a great job with the pictures and the menus. What plans do you have to promote the site and who is funding its development? Additionally, what is the technology and do you have the capability to add portlets and widgets or do mashups or other Web 2.0 things?

They took the contents from the official city web site and the stuff they have written themselves is full of mistakes. How disappointing. Maybe they should just do a site on individual stores themselves.

I love how quick people can be so negative. It's great to see some folks trying to do something good for the town, enough with all the negativity.
Oh and for the GUEST comment umm about TOWN or CITY..get over it. |

Meg & John...thanks for the postitive feedback. We are still tweeking (a technical term) things and will be improving the colors, format, backgrounds, etc...Please keep checking the site out. The business are really pleased that there is a place that they can list themselves. We will be conducting a web seminar for the businesses who want to learn more about the web and how it can help improve their businesses. Its an exciting time for Hardy as it has never had a website that is being promoted from within its own ranks. As a merchant on Main St. I know that everyone is very excited (fact) as I visited with EVERY business owner today who was available. Something that no other website owner ever did.
We will be continuing to grow, learn and explore all opportunities to improve our website...thanks for supporting Hardy. We Appreciate You...WAY! Marc |

You get over yourself. There is a big difference between town and city. You don't own the internet and until you do and until such time you shut it down, get over my post!

You need to tell whomever set up your domain (web address/URL), that they need to add the whois information.
http://whois.net/whois/mainstreethardy.com Everything says unknown and ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) http://icann.org will pull the site if all contact information isn't in place AND correct at all times. The only exception to that policy is if you are using a private proxy in which case their the proxy information will be shown instead of the information of the actual registrant, but as I said it all says unknown at this time, so that's not the case. |

I'm also wondering why the city of hardy and some of its business with websites, don't use local designers to create their sites. I'm a long time web designer (but not for hire, just for hobby) but this is something that's always bothered me!
I'll bet you are tweeking in more ways than one.

Marc - How long have you lived in Hardy and owned a business here? I've seen you around town more in the last year usually walking your dog without a leash which is against our city ordinances. But I don't recall seeing you out much before then, so I was just wondering how long you've been a resident here, since you generally have a lot to say in these forums about what Hardy needs or wants.
This part isn't directed at Marc particularly, but in general for all "old Hardy town newbies"...I'm wondering how all these newer people and newer business owners in town, versus lifelong residents, seem to think they know what the people of Hardy want? No one has ever knocked on my door and asked my opinion...not anyone running for office, not a council member, not a business owner, not anyone, ever. I've seen various people say "I asked the residents of Hardy x and y, and they want z" so just wondering who exactly is being asked? |

Better to light a candle than to curse the darkness. Easier to tear down than to build up. What would someone from Oregon know about the site being approved or not by the 'board'? These things come to mind as we work to make Historic Hardy business district a thriving and creative center in the Ozarks, as it once was. We have fresh air, a clean river, riches one cannot buy. It is for us to make our businesses work. Why would anyone try to diminish such efforts? What motives drive such negative commentators? Bless them and let us continue to build a healthy business area for the crafters, for the tourists, for the culture of the region, and for those who work to make it happen. God bless us all, especially those who curse us. That is what Christ said to do, and being in the buckle of the Bible belt, I just want to be in accord with the Lord. |

Dude, are you stoned?
You didn't get asked? Don't you vote? That is asking. You run your mouth so much they don't have to ask because you say it before they can ask.

ask the lady that was the head of that hardy advertising committee at the time the website was set up why she didn't use local designers. that was about 9 years ago. said there wasn't any one local that could do what they wanted. they went with a friend of another business in Hardy at the time. was always kind of fishy sounding.
