The obvious need for an online Hardy forum site that is moderated

After posting some and reading some on this forum, it has become obvious to me that this particular forum domain is riddled with people with undisciplined and childish minds who come here just to create confusion and chaos Or perhaps there are just a few who do it all. That is more likely, for I have found that good people are in the majority in most places, we just need to stand up.

People are posting in other people's names, people are being downright mean and nasty, people are posting all their pain and suffering by putting it out here on other people, and I bet there are just a few runnning around from thread to thread, just looking for something to crack on for their giggles..God bless them all, but...

I am not a computer whiz, but I am sure there are some posters out there who know how to create a moderated forum where grown ups can talk without the kids interrupting and disrupting the conversation.

There is a forum on the new website http://www.mainstreethardy.com that is moderated. That is one alternative. Let the mischief makers have their site and let them all bust each others' chops 24/7. But let those who wish to have more meaningful and mature communication find another venue, for the higher good.

I have lived alot of places and this kind of thing is common everywhere. Big frogs in little ponds, invisible to all but their Creator and all the blessed dead, working confusion onlin3 for that is what is in their own heads. Bless them, really.

In the expectation and acceptance of getting hassled by the usual suspects, let the rest of us do this thread in right action for the highest good.

Well said, and personally who cares about an "official" site. It hasn't changed in years. It is a free world and for those making an effort to get Hardy noticed and care, God Bless Them.

Without local shops and business..no one would even stop in Hardy half the time. Plus with only a population of under 700 its pretty hard for a regular business other then a grocery store (already one in the area) and a few pesonal care places (got them too) most local folks go up the highway for other items.

So the reality is in the world today..small towns are falling into dispair left and right if not outright turning into ghost towns, I have driven through any of those.

Good luck to the local shops and stores in working together to get noticed and promoted.

A population under 700 is wrong first of all, haven't you ever read the population signs at the city limits? Also do you think that no one from ashflat, cherokee, or highland ever come to hardy, well think again toots. Do you think McDonalds survives on less than 700 population? If you want a monitored site I hope that someone that has more brains than you two is elected to do the job. If you want facts to be posted here you need to delete your post now. Look at the tax base and then the income through the state and you will get the facts. Get the smoke out of your eyes and post on something you know about.

To paraphrase the Master, you are straining at gnats and swallowing camels with regard to the accurate population. Carol's estimate was within 10%, so it would be acceptable as a model by most reasonable people, but not acceptable to someone who cruises the posts and takes pot shots at folks....if the shoe fits....

You have also tried to demean the lady by calling her 'toots'. In a professional setting, you could lose your job for that. It is attitude and behavior like yours that make some of us call for a moderated site. If we could all speak to each other as if all the people in this area really do practice the Golden Rule, there would be no problem. I'd rather hang out with honest and good samaritans than with religious hypocrites.

OK, since I started this thread, I am saying to anyone who is reading, I think my point has been made to any reasonable person reading, that for any real communication, positive focus, or just chatting without all the static, it is necessary to meet in a moderated forum. One that I know of is at:

Maybe a course in reading comprehension and anger management will clear your mind enough to understand what is before you when you read my posts or anyone's, for that matter. I have seen your handiwork here. I am just one of many who you mess with. My selective posting is not a threat, just a heads up to headbangers like you that I love you as a brother, but I hate the way you are using the energy and will not play in the mud with you on a regular basis. Consider the concept of disagreeing without getting ugly. That is the only thing that needs censoring, the ugliness and negativity.
