I'm a recent participant in this forum and I've read lots of posts here about there not being enough activities for the youth of Hardy and surrounding areas. I thought I would take an informal poll and ask you, the community of Hardy, what kinds of activities would you envision for the youth of Hardy if the funds became available? I've been coming to Hardy for the summers since I was a very small child and I'm very interested in anything positive that could be done in support of the community. So, good people of Hardy--what types of things would be good for the youth of Hardy?

The youth of Hardy have what they need if they use it. The river for swimming, canoing, floating, and fishing. The woods for exploring, hunting, and hiking. The church of their choice for praying and good instruction. They have a nice park to play in when it is not flooded. What they do not need is people that come here to party and be a bad example like alot of people do when they visit our town. We live here we do not have to take a poll to figure out what to do. We do not need a guide especially one from Memphis or Chicago that has never experience fresh air and dirt at the same time. Get a little mud on your tires.

Ok, all good points but what about organized activities like sports or computer lab or robotics or art or music--things like that? Again, I'm not trying to tell your community what to do (and I'm not from Memphis OR Chicago):-)

It's an honest question--what would you want. I have a hard time believing that the answer is nothing...

My suggestions would be a skating rink. Or have heard alot of kids talk about a skate board park. Yes, we have lots of parks and nice ones at that in Hardy, CV and Ash Flat but nothing really for the 12 & up group.

a can of spray paint and some bigger buildings. BB Guns and picture windows. Stink Bombs and a crowded skating rink. Rotten Egg store. Paintball guns. Toilet paper factory...(They also need the area Dr's put in check because the lowlifes prescribe pills to every harry dick and sally making it very easy for them to purchase at a young age then become hooked and pretty much ruin their lifes.)

I think the skating rink idea sounds GREAT!! I remember going to the old one when I was a teenager and I loved it. Are you thinking that they need a place to congregate (with supervision of course) after school, or on weekends? What about tutoring programs for difficult subjects like Math and Physics/Chemistry/Computer Science? On a side question, what happens to most of the students when they graduate High School? Do they stick around? Go to college or trade schools?

Tutoring after school hours is also a great idea , the only tutoring they offer at the high school is early morning hours not making it possible for some parents to bring their children in for the help .

Roe if you would get your non job having self out of bed earlier, you could get your kid to tutoring. pills are easy to find anywhere. what we need is for parents to have jobs and set the examples for our kids that are coming up in todays society

Lay off Roe. You have been warned. She has the balls to put her name and face on here with a profile. You or me dont. So therefore if you do not listen to my order I will make your life on topix a living hell. If you dont think that is possible, ask around my friend. You have been warned..just remember that. The ladies are trying to discuss important shit and you keep trying to turn it into a bash. Let it go you moron. I think your life is so whack you probably want to off yourself so will suggest a way for you to do it. I want you to fill a milk jug with gas, get a pack of smokes, and a flint. Then I want you to go to the depths of hell where there is no light. Cover yourself with gas, then get the craving for a smoke..you get the pic ha,ha,h,aha, haha, hah, ahaha, hah a MORON..were all sorry Roe is married and wont nail you

Brad i have 2 say i found a new found respect for you , thank you . i know everything in life doesnt have 2 be so serious i guess that is y u say some of the things you do on topix . lol .. i think this is a serious issue i know i try 2 keep my children busy with different activities becuz i dont want them fallin in with the wrong crowd and getting into trouble , although i can honestly say my 14 yr old is a smart kid and he is pretty good right now at the choices he makes . but i do think we need more options for the youth . Brad hope u have a great day and thanks for the post

I think you should give all the youth guns so they wont get raped by the likes of Travis Miller.

I do not know Mr. Miller personally, however from reading the news, my understanding is that he is accused but not convicted. Recommend we wait for the trail prior to maligning him publicly.

Daily Horoscope for December 20

Aries

There's a lot of tension in the air, with certain people poised to spit the dummy, as Mars turns retrograde in your fifth house of romance, children and speculation. Confrontations are likely. If these are nothing to do with you and you just happen to be directly in the firing line, your best bet is to make yourself scarce. But if you are responsible for their outraged feelings then you need to face the music, otherwise things will only get worse.
