Our so called hospital needs to be changed to a glorified clinic, because in my experiences there, thats what they are. I personally have taken two people in my family there to get treated, and neither one got the care they should have. One of the people, was taken there due to chronic pain and a loss of 30 pounds in 1 month. They checked her gall bladder, told her it had sludge in it and told her they didnt want to do surgery at this time. Well I took her to Louisville, where she was diagnosed with CHRONES Disease (thats not her gall bladder). Second case, took someone there on last Monday, a 230 pound man, sweating, fever, urinating blood and vomiting blood. They took an xray and sent him home with pain meds..His gall bladder was full of gane green and started tearing!!! These doctors either DO NOT care about their patients or they are STUPID! Then when you call to complain, you are treated like a dirt bag by the woman in charge of the hospital! The person I took there on Monday, has been in the hospital in Louisville for a week! But Twin Lakes sent him home!!!!! I called an attorney and you cant really sue a hospital unless the person died due to their neglect. So if you care about your loved ones, DONT take them to Twin Lakes because unless you are a friend of someone there, you WILL NOT be taken care of properly!
And that is only 2 cases, I can give you two more stories of people that went there and were treated the same way!
I already know

I had a 39 year old friend die at Hardin Memorial. She was in good health other than needing a hysterectomy. My father-in-law was in Nortons and they gave him overdose of meds, just about killed him. Things like this happen at every hospital. I think we have a great hospital here in Grayson County. Had surgery here and all went well and I was treated very well by all the hospital employees. Medicine is not an exact science.

medicine is not an exact science, however, I can give you 10 names of people that were misdiagnosed at this hospital and the conditions were serious. One of those people have been in the hospital in Louisville for a week because their gall bladder had gane green in it and started to tear. That is not just a belly ache! There is a severe problem at Twin Lakes. Im glad you survived your surgery, because I know 2 people that were told "Its all in your head" by a doctor there, then went home and had heart attacks. Not serious! I think otherwise.

No, I never worked there, these are people I personsally know that went to that hospital. I like the way you want to assume you know something though.

Now I do want to clarify, I have never had an issue with the nurses, they have always been really nice. But the doctors treat people like they dont know what they are talking about. My friend that was sent home with gane green in his gall bladder has been in the hospital for a week after the stupid doctors in Leitchfield sent him home. So it was so serious that he has been hospitalized for a week after the surgery. Im glad that some of you have been treated descent there, but that is not always the case. 10 people, that I know personally that were seriously mis diagnosed by those doctors. So please read my origional statement before you start assuming im mad because i got fired when I never worked there.

I could give you hundreds of names of people that have been treated at Twin Lakes and had great results. You have the choice to go someplace else, but I am pleased with Twin Lakes. They have treated and saved many many patients. I bet if you look at the mistakes at other hospitals their percentage of mistakes is much higher at the larger hospital. True, we do not do brain or heart surgeries but we are a top rated hospital with great doctors and employees. As said in my previous comment, mistakes happen at every hospital, I know I used to work at a large hospital in Louisville. If I have a heart attack you can be sure that I don't want to drive to E-town or Louisville and bypass Twin Lakes and possibly die on the way to the bigger hospital.
And then there is the issue of staph and fungus infectionsl in the larger hospitals. Did you know about those issues and how serious that problem is to deal with????

Well, we NEED to know this type of stuff for our family's sake!

I don't need the 10 names, but please give me the names of the 2 people that had those heart attacks and the name of this doctor involved.

Thank you again, because everyone that cares about their loved ones should know this.

Okay, let's start this baby up.

First off, there is no such thing as "gane green". When you spell something and a red line comes up under it that's a bad sign, don't do it.

Second, your use of the word "descent". That means the act of moving from a higher to a lower position. Again, correct use of the English language is important.

Third, mis diagnosed is actually one big old word.

I won't mention your other problems as not to seem picky, but let me say, I'm willing to bet that you have a medical card. I'm willing to bet that your "friend" who had the "gane green" uses a medical card. None of that actually matters except for the fact that most people who expect something for nothing are generally hard to please.

Lastly, I'm willing to bet that the "stupid" doctors are happier than you that you're not patronizing their establishment anymore.

I know that my friend right now is in Louisville where the doctors cared enough to run and extra test to find out was wrong instead of treating him like a number and sending him home. He suffered from pyratinitis? I may be spelling it wrong. If his gall bladder would have been removed on the Tuesday evening I took him to Twin Lakes, then his gall bladder would not of ruptured like it did. I am glad you were taken care of, but the times I have been in that facility with family I have taken there, the care has been horrible. And yes, i am sure that other hospitals make mistakes too, however in the last year, Twin Lakes care has went down hill, or maybe its who you know, which should not matter at a hospital. But I can tell you that out of 10 people I know personally, 8 of them went to Louisville, and were treated like someone cares. The test that found the gall bladder problem is called an ultrasound, they may want to start doing those instead of tests that show nothing if they really care. Because 1 of the people I know were told their gall bladder was fine, and it ruptured, the other was told their gall bladder wasnt that bad so we dont want to do anything else at this time, mean while she couldnt get out of the bed and continued to loose weight. She was diagnosed with Chrones disease. But if the doctors there really care then why dont they listen to their patients instead of acting like they are bothering them??????????If they would have listened to my friend he wouldnt still be in the hospital, instead they doped him up and sent him home!!!!!! That doesnt sound like a doctor that cares to me.1

I know someone who at 26 years old went to Twin Lakes, was diagnosed with the flu and died about 12 hours later of a massive heart attack. I am not saying medicine is an exact science, but 2 people that I know of, the other being 32 years old I think, died of heart attacks in 2003 after misdiagnosis at TLRMC.

Let see how much more of this stuff you people can make up about our local hospital. I don't know who you hope to hurt by all of this but I can assure you it will not be the doctors. It hurts the people who depend on the hospital for a living, people like most of you, housekeepers, nursing assistance, dietary workers, maintenance people. There is good and bad at every hospital but unfortunately you don't hear about other hospitals because you live here. Medicine is not an exact science and it is not a perfect world. Even if a doctor makes a mistake, that is not an excuse to condemn the whole bunch. In spite of its shortcomings, our local hospital is one of the best things this community has to offer so let's try not to destroy it too. The case of the 26 year old went to trial and the verdict was for the doctor, so what does that tell you? Because of privacy laws, the hospital cannot get on here to defend itself and it shouldn't have too. All of you know the type of people who get on this website. For the most part, nothing but lowlifes, who expect everything from society but give nothing back other than crap like this. I would bet my bottom dollar Concern Citizen and her family and friends have never paid a cent for health care in the life but they demand everything. It is time to stop these public hangings like Concern CItizen is doing. If she or he has a legitimate case, that is what attorneys and the court system are for.

I agree with you, we had called the ambulance after my mom one day, doctor in emergency room was just about laughing in our face, when he was asking my mom what was wrong. He said we will run some test since you are already here. Test come back and the doctor called me out in the hallway and said he was sorry that she was really sick. My mom passed away a couple of weeks later. We would of not been there if she wasn't sick, I have better things to do than sit around the ER.

the only problem with the hospital is the emergency room doctor has a crappy attitude and poor judgement..and sometimes one rotting apple can spoil the whole basket..seek a better doctor for the emergency room..I won't mention names, but i'm sure if the hospital administrator would check out the complaints and records, they could figure it out?
