A hockey rink?? This is the best news I have had since moving to SC from NY. Although it seems foreign to many residents of SC, hockey is big business. Patron of hotels on an interstate may stay 2 nights, but not likely. Hockey rinks draw visitors for multiple days- week. Sporting good stores, restaurants, tourism all flourish in areas where ice hockey is played. It is not just for kids and men. Women's hockey is big business in the US. Take a look at the Ice Palace in Charleston, SC and the Extreme IcePlex in Charlotte, SC. These rink are perfect examples of the success that can come to the area with the development of a quality rink. Please, someone find Mark Messier to facilitate the project and I will help make ice hockey an attraction in the Low Country. Please advise who proposing a rink and I will jump on board!
