As a member of the Levy community who supports Doug Graham and his fine volunteers, this is just another disgraceful slap coming from the politicians who would rather just shut the Fire Station down and divert the money that we pay in taxes to the another part of the county. This would leave us unprotected and have to rely on a too distant Hardeeville F.D. that is just too far away for emergencies where minutes count. Hardeeville F.D. aren't familiar so much with Levy.

That equates to valuable response time being lost. It also equates to higher insurance rates for our homes here given that we will be farther away from the responding fire department.

South Carolina is noted for their wild politicians and their antics. Recall the president being called a liar? Yep, that was one of our finest! Seems like we have a local grass roots movement here to move up that same political ladder, by questionable (at best) decisions from our elected representatives.

Somewhere along the line the same people that we elected seem to have forgotten who put them in the position they now hold and the decisions that are being made are not necessarily the best for the community they are to represent, but rather politically motivated to further their own careers and possibly pockets?

We, as a community, need to remember these decisions and how they affect us come election time when we go to the polls. Politicians, like diapers need changing, and for the same reason!
