Grew up in Rockland class of 70 and never went inside the old hotel. Was recently re opened with a small restaurant in the back called the Banner Pub. This place is awesome. The food and drinks are worth trying. Better than any other place we have tried in a very long time. The owners son is ROCKY on the current Survivor show. Try it!! You will be glad you did..

the only problem there is the smokers, they hang at the front and back door and the doors are open!! so the smoke goes right inside.
not nice when your eating and if you dont enjoy second hand smoke!

the food is not only good, they give these great big portions. Also have live entertainment on Tues, Thurs, Sat nights, along with Karaoke Fri night and two different bands Sunday afternoon and Sunday nights. Great place to hang out

This place is absoltely disgusting. The mens bathroom reeks of urine, doesn't look like it's been cleaned in years. I have no idea how people could eat the food in this place. The board of health should shut it down.

Your right PaulC, I went in there acouple of weeks ago and the AC was off. All you could smell was urine- and people were actually eating the food with this smell.

You delicate people that are bad mouthing the Banner should stay the hell out if it offends your sensitive little minds. It's a local bar where you can get good food and drinks without going broke.
Stay in your overpriced bars with phony clientel,$8 beers and $12 drinks.....Idiots!!

as i understand it, it is the new catalonis. don't the people who use to hang at catalonis hang there now! I've known brenda for many years ever sense we hang around in a bar called virgies in somerville. and she was against drugs way back then.
