I cannot believe that Pauley's is still in business.
I have a Bichon (which was supposed to be a toy poodle) from there. They told us we could "exchange" her, but we were too attached and wouldn't do that. While, she hasn't any huge medical issues, she is very nervous and has always been very skittish. She has a nervous habit where she licks everything in sight, all the time. When we found out a few years ago that Pauley's was a in association with a puppy mill, we took Chloe (our Bichon) to Petsmart and asked a few questions. They believe what happened was that she was taken from her Mom too young, and that's why she is always so nervous. We treat her with as much love as possible, and have 3 rescues aswell. But she still will probably always be nervous, which I blame on the puppy mill she came from.
I think when they had the puppy mill bust a few years ago that the county should have most definitely closed Pauley's down. It's sickening how they treat these precious animals like absolutely nothing but money making machines. It's just disgusting. How would they like to have been stuck in cages that are way too small when they were baby's? To not hardly be fed, given proper care, or even been touched unless they were being stuck into cages or taken away? It's just absolutely terrible.:(
Bottom line. Pauley's needs to be stopped.
We need to do something about this other than just comment on a thread online, though. If we really want them closed down, we need to get into action and stop them. These poor puppies can't speak for themselves, we have to speak for them..
