He wasn't her grandfather, he was her father and the best dad ever.

Yeah...Great kid. Gets drunk and drives the wrong way and kills someone. I would hate to see what you would call a bad kid! Hopefully this "good kid" will spend alot of time in jail for taking a girl's father away!

I hope the full extent of the law crashes down upon this under aged drunk driver and the wrath of God envelops him for what he has done. Bill was a wonderful man and father and his passing is incredibly upsetting. His daughter lost her mother to cancer a couple of years ago and this senseless act has left her without the only parent she had left. Please pray for this family to find peace in the midst of tragedy.

The family of the deceased & someone from the scene (a cop or an ambulance driver) has posted on the RTD forum. They said that not only was this Sickal drunk as a freaking skunk, but he was LAUGHING at everything & fighting when the ambulance drivers tried to strap him down.
If he was really a "good kid" he wouldn't have been driving drunk or be laughing at the fact that he just committed manslaughter. It doesn't take freaking rocket science to call someone to drive you home because you are too drunk to drive.
April, you should get up & thank your lucky stars that your sister is still alive. She could have been driving with him... and be in the hospital because he was stupidly driving drunk.
This poor 9 year old girl will now have to spend her entire life without her father. Each holiday season she'll remember how some callous youth caused a horrific car crash that killed her father. And she'll remember that he laughed & laughed at everything that he'd done.
That monster belongs in jail. I hope he makes lots of new "friends" & that they give him what he truly deserves. Maybe it's an accident, but the moment he drove out drunk he became a murderer.

he actually got surgery and has to get another one, so i don't see how he was up and laughing. i know him, and know he wouldn't do that. expecially after he's been in the hospital, and getting two surguries so far.

Simply amazing that he can be called a good kid, then goes out and help destroy anothers life. Where were his good friends when he needed them?
Too many parents allow their "good kids" to violate the law and then tell them, "by 5pm we'll be down to get you out of jail, and don't worry little johnny jr. we will hire the best lawyer money can buy." Now, the shoe is on the other foot.
That little girl will have some permanent scars, pray that God will wipe away all of her tears right now.

Give us a break! He cares nothing about what happened and neither do you. Eye-witnesses do not make up stories. It's a game, sorta like playing his x-box, hitting the reset button like it never happened. You kids need to grow up and your parents also.

He is a great kid, and whoever said he was laughing at the fact that he killed someone should be killed themselves because that is pure bullshit. He is a young kid who made a huge mistake. He never would want to harm someone, and I know he is deeply sorry and regretfull. He now has to live with this the rest of his life. I am not trying to make it seem like he was the victim but I know he is in so much pain himself over what he can't even remember doing. My heart goes out to the little girl and her family and I know nick would do anything to take back what he has done.

I actually know this family, and while they are good people, they give their kids everything they want with little supervision or consequence for bad behavior. This kid has been in trouble before and not only drinks but smokes pot. That's right, just because he is nice, doesnt mean he doesnt have problems. Nice kids have issues too. He has exhibited problematic behavior for some time and the parents should never had been allowing him to drive, but should have instead been testing him at home and forcing him to get help BEFORE something like this happened. Instead they allowed him every freedom in spite of his troubled behavior and pretended that their kids could do no wrong. It's tragic for both families that failure to act on the warning signs ended up ruining so many lives. This should be a wake up call to anyone who thinks their kids are too good to screw up and anyone who hasnt been paying attention to warning signs that are in front of them.

Whoever purchased or gave this kid intoxicating beverages should be charged as an accessory to the crime. Hopefully, he will tell on others that were a contributing factor to this crime. Cuff them all up. Parents do you know where your kids are and what they are doing. No adult supervision leads to mischievous behavior. Instead of running around chanting slogans about "claiming america" back; you need to reclaim your own home back.

this is what happens when parents care more about making money and acquiring material things, than paying attention to their kid's needs. Hope the family of Goode sues Sickals family for all they are worth (they are loaded). Cant replace the little girls dad but may make life a little easier for her. I have no doubt Sickal's family money will get him the best lawyer in the state and get leniency for their son.

All of these comments are completely unnessesary. The well wishes are nice to hear, however, as a member of Bill and Alysha's family, these arguments are worthless. The fact is that Bill (to no fault of his own) is DEAD. Alysha (to no fault of her own) is now an ORPHAN. It is upsetting that, it seems, many people just want a reason to debate. Well, let me ask you please, to find something else to dabate over. There cannot possibly be any good material here. The kid who broke the law was wrong. He may be in the hospital-boo hoo hoo- but my uncle is dead. Leave it alone, please!

And guess what? He still gets to be a kid!! Trust me, he is not a great kid! But he still gets the chance to be a kid. What chance does Bill have? How about Alysha? Does she get the chance to live out her childhood or did Sickel just rob her of that chance?

The reason there is a law against drinking and driving is to clear up any chance that someone makes a bad decision. The law is clear. If the kid hadn't been drinking, this would be a huge mistake, but CHOOSING to drink and drive (when it is clearly breaking the law)is intent.
