Enough blame for everyone here.
It's the guys' own fault for engaging in the stupidest excuse for a sport in the history of ... sports ... and the school's own fault for sponsoring it.
This is one tough sport and apparently you have never participated or watched in person.

This is nothing more than a shakedown. These guys are making this into a big deal 2 years after the fact right at the start of wrestling season. This was done for maximum exposure. Why else would they go and announce it to the media? Kessler runs a great program that stresses academics first. Go visit the place. The Academic All-Americans are those held in the highest regard. York College has invested millions of dollars in new facilities and is consistently ranked very high in educational value. These 3 washouts are obviously angry about something that happened to them and are striking back in an attempt to get a quick settlement. They are counting on the school trying to avoid embarrassment. The name 'herpes' had a stigma because of the STD. They are playing on that. I hope the school stands its ground.

Its a shame that schools sponsor any sporting activity. If the athletes want to play make them pay for it.

I don't know what's going on, but there's been enough funny business that I can't figure out if it's them or me. Just goofy stuff I hadn't noticed before.

"---HSV2 affects[sic]only people with VERY ACTIVE SEX LIVEs". WRONG! A single event during a life time, will cause that person to become INFECTED,when conditions for infection are present.ONCE is all it takes!

Read the article Before you post on here. It said the legions were above the ones left eye. You can catch all kinds of disease from the mat. The school broke the rules and the young men wiated to finish there scholarships up and then get payback. Pretty cut and dry.
This is Division III. They don't have scholarships.

The kids are losers. All 3 wrestlers were kicked off the team due to multiple reasons. I believe 2 of them have records. One has a record with York County while another has a record in New Jersey. Bottom line is just a bunch of scumbags looking for easy money at the price of a great program.

This guy has been posting on here about STDs, calling wrestlers gay and generally being an anonymous idiot. This is NOT genital herpes. It is Herpes Gladiatorum or 'mat herpes'. To those of you reading this who are not familiar with wrestling, it is fairly common. Wrestling is a close contact sport, so it spreads in the wrestling room due to the favorable environment (for the herpes). Football is also a sport where this type of infection can break out. There are established rules for handling it and guidelines for treatment. It does not last forever, either.

This is an attempt at revenge and some easy cash for some guys who washed out of the program.

If in your words 'it doesn't last forever', what's the big deal and why a lawsuit. And if there is a cure how comes the medical community is unaware of it? Why would anyone sue over a 'minor' infection with no consequences? It seems to me either you are wrong, which is true, or the re[poting by the YDR and medical experts is wrong. It also seems there is some type of stigma attached to herpes and wrestling. Is there more to it than meets the public eye? And once again nowhere in the repoting has the term 'mat herpes' been used. It has been described as Herpes a virus spread through blood, sweat or seminal or vaginal fluids. So go figure matboy!

Another wrestler sued a school and won a case, becuase he contracted herpes, a 6 figure pay out, precedent has been set, York could very easily lose, and one of the wrestlers suing, I beleive was friends with the wrestler who sued the other school...

The division I school almost dropped their program, now all wrestlers must sign waivers in order to participate in the sport...Good luck York, the wrestlers know there is a chance of contracting skin infections, anytime there is contact. I hope the wrestlers lose...
