Paul Ryan To Meet With Congressional Black Caucus After 'Inarticulate' Poverty Remarks:

WASHINGTON, March 14 (Reuters)- Republican U.S. Representative Paul Ryan on Friday agreed to meet with the Congressional Black Caucus after members of the group branded his remarks about inner-city poverty this week "highly offensive".

The controversy began on Wednesday after Ryan said on William Bennett's talk radio show, "Morning in America," that there was a "tailspin of culture, in our inner cities in particular, of men not working and just generations of men not even thinking about working or learning the value of work."

"Let's be clear, when Mr. Ryan says 'inner city,' when he says,'culture,' these are simply code words for what he really means:'black'.

10 reasons why people love Obamacare:

10. Creates new protections to ensure your insurance plan covers you when you need it. Most states already has strong insurance protections. The Affordable Care Act (ACA) enhances these protections by eliminating limits on the amount of benefits you can receive.

9. Expands coverage for young adults. Under the ACA, young adults are able to stay on their parents’ coverage until age 26.

8. Strengthens the primary care system and supports community health centers. The ACA has already provided more than $130 million to community health centers all across the country to strengthen their programs while expanding access to primary care for community members.

7. Reduces childhood obesity and tobacco use. The Department of Public Health is using ACA grants to improve emergency medical services for children, reduce childhood obesity and encourage tobacco cessation.

6. Rewards quality of care, rather than quantity. The ACA supports the goals of the Commonwealth’s 2012 cost containment law by promoting the formation of Accountable Care Organizations that reward quality and efficiency of care rather than the quantity of care.

5. Makes prescription drug coverage more affordable for seniors. The ACA closes the “donut hole” in Medicare prescription drug coverage. Nearly 2.3 million seniors saved an average of $667 each on prescription drugs in 2013,predictions to almost double in 2014.

4. Covers preventive health services with no co-pay. Thanks to the ACA, most health plans must now cover preventive services like shots, smoking cessation and cancer screenings at no cost to the consumer. This will help increase access to critical preventative care in the short term, and save lives in the long run.

3. Provides tax credits to small businesses and increased coverage for employees. The ACA establishes tax credits for certain small employers to make it more affordable to cover their employees, which can be combined with additional wellness rebates through the Health Connector. Very low-income employees who cannot afford their employer’s coverage will become newly eligible for Obamacare without any penalty for employers.

2. Provides billions in additional federal dollars for states that enroll in Obamacare. The ACA streamlines state health insurance programs while providing additional federal reimbursement for people already covered. The ACA also provides grants to help states protect taxpayers from excessive premiums.

1. Ensures affordable coverage for more middle income families. The ACA extends health subsidies to those with incomes from 300% up to 400% of the federal poverty level (approximately $46,000 for an individual), making health insurance affordable for more low-and-middle-income families.

Seriously, I can't watch Fox News...I've maybe watched a total of maybe 3 hours total in the last seven years. I'm not exagerating at all either. I feel no desire whatsoever to know ...."what they're up to". But I just can't stand being decieved and out right lied to so I just don't stop on that channel ever...here's what they're up to.....fraud. they love to provoke a rise out of liberal minded individuals not unlike myself but I just don't like those blunt headed creeps. They are all just full of shtt . This isn't my opinion either this is fact. Unless your mind is so soft that you actually accept this nonsense as credible. If you in fact do then your just a dumbassed stooge.

Fourteen Propaganda Techniques Fox "News" Uses to Brainwash Americans:

The trolls fall for FIXED news and they slurp up Sean Hannity's and Bill OReilly's extra strength nut juice.

If Fox said the earth was flat, they would believe it.

Great evaluation. I think it could be taken farther by comparing it to the efforts of totalitarian regimes to brainwash their people. Lots of similarity.
Threee aspects that may not have been mentioned: Appear to be "Fair and Balanced", "Distancing" and "Realingn Criticism".
Not only is it important to repeat the term "Fair and Balanced", but you need to have an occasionial guest from the "other side", who of course, is usually a moderate and is then "blasted" by the host and other guests. In a recent expose on SNAP benefits called The Great Food Stamp Binge, they mentioned that both sides of the political spectrum have contributed to the problem (fair and balanced), but spent the end of the show associating Obama with their exaggeration of the problem. When they showed some Novellas designed to influence Hispanics, they neglected to mention they were created during the Bush administration.
Distancing is when the listeners defend the network because the ideas presented are from the "contracted" show anchors. As if Fox News really has no control nor influence on what the hosts say.
Realigning Criticism is when Fox News labels attacks on their prophets of conservatism as excessive and thus by definition, unreasonable. For example, counter the accusation that Obama caused record deficits by invoking the deficits under Bush, and viewers, taking a cue from the network, claim unfair use of "old" history.
The irony is that the viewers think they are reliving the American Revolution by defending their rights to guns, junk food, and resources. But in fact they are pawns who have been taught to carry a gun and carry a cross

Experts: Michelle Obama Cited Bogus Study Showing Drastic Drop in Childhood Obesity
Mar 17, 2014

When Michelle Obama celebrated the fourth anniversary of "Let's Move," her White House initiative on fitness and healthy eating, she cited a recent study by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) showing a remarkable 43 percent drop in obesity rates among children ages 2-5....

But a report by Reuters health & science correspondent Sharon Begley casts doubt on the validity of the results of the study. While Begley concludes that "no one can say for certain that the claim is wrong," the results are so uncertain that "based on the researchers' own data, the obesity rate may have even risen rather than declined."
...
This is not the first time Mrs. Obama has cited statistics in support of Let's Move that turned out to be less than meets the eye.

Just last year, on the third anniversary of Let's Move, the first lady's office sent out a press release that appeared to take credit for the recent developments that "national childhood obesity rate has leveled off, and even declined in some cities and states." In particular, the White House highlighted a 13 percent decline in childhood obesity in Mississippi. But as we reported at the time:
[t]he 13 percent decrease that Mrs. Obama touted is measured from Spring 2005 through Spring 2011.“Let's Move” was launched in February 2010, so the first five years of the time period in question were prior to Let's Move's existence.

Pfeiffer: Obama Will Be ‘an Asset in Every Way Possible’ for Dems
March 16, 2014

White House adviser Dan Pfeiffer dismissed the notion that President Obama and his policies are politically toxic, despite Tuesday’s loss in Florida’s special election and a new New York Times report finding Democrats fearful of their November prospects.

Pfeiffer blamed the fact that Democrats face such an uphill climb in keeping the Senate this year was due just having so many senators in office to begin with.“That’s what happens when you win a lot of elections like we did in 2008,” he said on Meet the Press.

Gibbs: Even Though WH Won’t Admit It, Senate ‘Definitely’ in Danger
March 16, 2014

One of President Obama’s top former advisers warned Democrats that if they can’t keep the Senate in November, then that’s effectively the end of the Obama presidency.“If you lose the Senate, turn out the lights because the party is over,” former White House press secretary Robert Gibbs said on Meet the Press.
...
David Gregory asked Gibbs why his former colleague, White House adviser Dan Pfeiffer, who was on the show earlier, didn’t admit the seriousness of the threat of Republicans taking back the Senate.

“Honesty can only go so far in Washington when you’re employed,” Gibbs quipped, noting that he had to put on a similar poker face for the administration ahead of the Republican wave in the 2010 midterms.“As a consultant, I can say all these things now.”

Kasparov said on his Twitter feed that Obama makes Jimmy Carter look like Winston Churchill and fretted about the possibility that Clinton would succeed Obama.

Much like Glenn Beck, Sarah Palin will soon have her own subscription-based TV channel. Dubbed "Rogue TV" and offered by digital service provider Tapp, Palin's outlet will cost $10/month and is expected to launch in April or May. Capital New York reports:

Palin's channel will feature video commentaries from the former Republican vice-presidential candidate, discussing current events and political issues. It will also have advice and guidance from Palin, such as tips for parents and recipes. There are also tentative plans to have subscribers engage in regular video chats with Palin.

Tapp paints a picture of what to expect, with...topics like 'paranormal,''faith,''relation ships,''fantasy sports' and 'science.'

The question remains whether Palin's channel, like Beck's, will be home to co-hosts and additional personalities offering commentary. And while Palin is currently a contributor to FOX, it's unknown what impact Rogue TV will have on that fact.

"Think of it as a video version of her Facebook page," said an anonymous source involved with the project.

Media observers have pointed out that for Beck, "The Blaze TV" has been a massive financial success and established him as a brand name all his own. But it's also cut him off from the mainstream press, making him arguably less influential. Of course in Palin's case, she's already perceived to be irredeemably on the outs with the "lamestream" media, making Rogue TV a less risky proposition reputation-wise.

It would be her first successful venture. As mayor she left Wasilla $20 million in debt, she couldn't hang as governor, her vice-presidential run was a train wreck much like her reality TV show.. Good Luck Sarah !

Hurry and get this special offer before it's too late!!!

Obama’s Paper-Tiger Presidency
March 18, 2014
Jimmy Carter has been surpassed in poor foreign-policy leadership.

Americans who are dissatisfied with Barack Obama’s leadership are thinking about the poor economy and the misbegotten health-care law. That disillusionment is justified — if tardy. But the foreign-policy failures of this administration are likely to be far more consequential, lasting, and possibly catastrophic.

What we are seeing is the collapse of American influence in the world.

Permitting people like Obama, Clinton, Hagel, and Kerry to deal with the brutal realities of world politics is like putting Richard Simmons into the ring with Muhammad Ali.

On Sunday, reflecting an innocence that really ought to be prosecutable, John Kerry announced that the U.S. would impose sanctions on Russia if it annexes Crimea and continues to threaten the rest of Ukraine. But, he hastened to add:“We hope President Putin will recognize that none of what we’re saying is meant as a threat, it’s not meant in a personal way.”
