Why is the U.S. government unnecessarily collecting massive amounts of citizen financial data from private sources?
Hackers are drooling in wait.
Talk about an oxymoron: "Consumer Financial Protection Bureau"
WashingtonExaminer.com , January 28, 2014
Federal consumer bureau data-mining hundreds of millions of consumer credit card accounts, mortgages Officials at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau are conducting a massive, NSA-esque data-mining project collecting account information on an estimated 991 million American credit card accounts.
It was also learned at a Congressional hearing Tuesday that CFPB officials are working with the Federal Housing Finance Agency on a second data-mining effort, this one focused on the 53 million residential mortgages taken out by Americans since 1998.
The mortgage information is being compiled in a database that can be "reversed engineered" by hackers seeking information for identify theft, according to an expert cited during the hearing.

Another bogus Obamacare story: The GOP's 'Bette'!!!!!!!!!
The centerpiece of the Republican party's attack on the Affordable Care Act following President Obama's State of the Union address this week was the story of "Bette."
Bette was an otherwise unidentified Washington state resident featured in the official GOP response to the Obama speech delivered by Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-Wash.). According to Rodgers, Bette had written her a letter stating that she had "hoped the presidents healthcare law would save her money but found out instead that her premiums were going up nearly $700 a month." The lesson, according to Rodgers: "This law is not working."
Bette has now been tracked down by her hometown Spokane Spokesman-Review. She's Bette Grenier, who owns a small business with her husband. Unsurprisingly, her story is much different from the sketchy description provided by Rodgers. That description perplexed experts, including Washington State Insurance Commissioner Mike Kreidler, who couldn't understand how a state resident "would have no choice but to pay $700 per month more for a policy that meets the Affordable Care Acts coverage requirements," the newspaper reported.
But her plight has nothing to do with Obamacare. It's a product of her own apparently flawed decision to refuse even to look into the benefits the healthcare law might provide. And it's another sign of how threadbare the GOP criticism of the Affordable Care Act has become. If this is the best they can conjure up for what might be one of the best-watched TV appearances a back-bench Republican congresswoman gets to deliver, shouldn't they give up already?
YOU HAVE TO READ THE WHOLE ARTICLE!!!
And now back to FIXED news with Sean Hannity on the Benghazi scandal...
#55908 Jan 31, 2014
The quotes from House GOP leaders are rather remarkable. Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.) said health care reform may lead to identity theft; Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) falsely claimed premiums are going right through the roof; Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) warned that consumers who visit healthcare.gov may become victims of fraud; and Caucus Chair Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-Wash.) said vulnerable constituents may be put on the casualty list.
All they need to make this a news story is a person willing to say that this happened to them. They have plenty of those, and the media doesnt bother to vet them to see if they even tried to use the website or if they can get a cheaper plan via the exchanges.
The media hops from one outrage to the next while never turning on the GOP to ask a question about why these stories feed their political agenda and so consistently turn out to be lacking in credibility. Thats not to say there arent problems with the rollout but there is no need to waste space discussing something that was already repeating what any sane person would have expected.
This is a coordinated effort to sabotage a law. Republicans arent hiding their efforts, but why should they? Instead of fact-checking Republicans or even showing an ounce of skepticism no matter how many times they are burned by Republican aides leaking a false story to them, the media laps up the GOPs drama-filled tales.

While I can understand why they fell for the IRS and Benghazi fictions, to fall for sabotaging a law is different. And this is a law, not an event or a bill. Its already been debated, vetted, and double vetted.
The nasty contempt with which the media reports on the alleged failures of this law has been stunning. The sneering reports of failure, the craven jumping from one talking point to another as soon as the first collapses with no accountability while declaring themselves to be the arbiters of accountability reveals just how closely the media falls in line with Republican talking points.
All they need is an actor to get a few quotes from and theyre off to round out the edges of their GOP narrative. That is the formula the GOP slips them a story and an anecdotal actor with the IRS story, the anecdotal actor turned out to have been a group already found guilty of illegally helping Republicans but the media still ran with them as the example of Tea Party groups being targeted.
Take that formula and apply it to an already confusing change (all big change is confusing, by the way see Medicare Part D, which wasnt nearly so big a change). Groups that wanted to help explain the law to the public were threatened by the Republicans not to get involved or theyd be investigated. The media is totally uninterested in investigating this abuse of power, as they sift through ObamaCare crumbs to see if what stray piece of negativity might have been missed.
Not to worry, media, youve only to wait for Republicans to craft your next story and hand it to you on a silver platter so you can feed it to the masses as proof that you really didnt fail us under Bush. You are very, very important people who take pushing back on a law designed to help protect the people from corporate greed very seriously. We know.
We dont need the media anymore. Why not just go straight to the source and pass out GOP talking points every morning as the news.

Fox News Dominates Cable Ratings for State of the Union Address
It beats combined viewership of MSNBC, CNN; overall tune-in across broadcast, cable down 12% from last year to 33.3 million
Fox News flexed its muscles as the most popular cable news outlet Tuesday night, as its coverage of the State of the Union address out-drew the combined tune-in of rivals CNN and MSNBC. It was also the only one to be up vs. last years speech.
According to Nielsen estimates for roughly 9:14-10:20 p.m. ET, Fox News Channel averaged 4,718,853 viewers more than double MSNBC (2,292,169) and CNN (2,081,431).
FNC held a sizable advantage in the key news demo of adults 25-54 as well (1,197,554), with CNN ranking second by this measure (762,450) and MSNBC third (752,054).

Is it surprising that convicted criminals would flock to work as Obamacare Navigators when none are required to pass background checks?
Obama and the 100% Democrat-passed Obamacare legislation permits convicted criminal access to Americans' most personal financial and health data.
What could go wrong?
NationalReview.com , January 29, 2014
Californias Obamacare Scandal
At least 43 convicted criminals are working as Obamacare navigators in California, including three individuals with records of significant financial crimes.
Although some of the offenses are decades old, and although convicted criminals account for only 1 percent of the 3,729 certified enrollment counselors in the state, Californians still have good cause to be concerned about their privacy.
Even a single crooked navigator could do significant harm to the public. Thats because when navigators sign consumers up for health insurance under the Affordable Care Act, they have access to lots of private information, including Social Security numbers, home addresses, and financial data basically, everything on the wish list of identity thieves and fraudsters. Navigators also are likely to work with a population that is more vulnerable than average.

Republican 2016 Hopes Evaporate as David Wildstein Says Christie Knew About Bridgegate :
The house of cards is crashing down around Chris Christie and taking the Republicans best hope for 2016 with them, as David Wildstein is spilling the beans and admitting the governor knew about Bridgegate.
Kate Zernike at the New York Times reported:
In a letter released by his lawyer, the official, David Wildstein, a high school friend of Mr. Christies who was appointed with the governors blessing at the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, which controls the bridge, described the order to close the lanes as the Christie administrations order and said evidence exists as well tying Mr. Christie to having knowledge of the lane closures, during the period when the lanes were closed, contrary to what the governor stated publicly in a two-hour press conference three weeks ago.

GOP In Shambles As Poll Finds Americans View Democrats as More Ethical and Honest
Despite spending years attacking the character of President Obama and the Democrats, a new Pew Research Center survey found that the American people trust Democrats more than Republicans 41%-31%.
The Pew Research Centers annual survey of policy and priorities found that Democrats led Republicans on a wide range of character issues. Democrats had a 25 point lead (52%-27%) on being more willing to work with the other party. Democrats held a 20 point (52%-32%) advantage on the question of who is concerned with the needs of people like me. By a margin of 54%-35%, Republicans were found to be the more extreme party in their positions. Respondents also thought the Republican Party was more influenced by lobbyists than the Democratic Party (47%-30%), but the most telling question was who do people trust to govern ethically and honestly.
By a margin of 41%-31% those surveyed believed that Democrats govern in a more ethical and honest way than Republicans. This question goes to the heart of why Democrats continue to win elections. A majority of voters dont trust the Republican Party. They dont think Republicans will be honest with them. Some of these feelings are no doubt left over from the dishonest Bush administration, but much of the distrust comes from the way Republicans have chosen to govern.
Read it here cause you wont hear this story on FIXED NEWS!

Uninsured Americans' Hardening View of Obamacare
Two new public opinion polls show uninsured Americansa group considered critical for Obamacares successare hardening their views about the Presidents health care law.
The Kaiser Family Foundations latest monthly tracker out today reported that 47 percent of Americans who lack health insurance have an unfavorable opinion of Obamacare, outnumbering by 2-to-1 those uninsured Americans who like Obamacare (24 percent). Last month, views from uninsured Americans were more evenly split, with 43 percent opposing Obamacare and 36 percent supporting, the Kaiser poll noted.
While most uninsured Americans (54 percent) said Obamacare hasnt made much difference for them or their families, 33 percent felt they were worse off, and only 13 percent reported feeling better off from the law.
When asked about their views of Obamacare helping Americans who dont have insurance, uninsured Americans were even more negative, with 39 percent believing uninsured Americans were worse off, 29 percent saying it would have no impact, and 26 percent believing the uninsured would be helped by Obamacare.

More Obamacare stupidity: Developers of website linked to Belarus government
Developers linked to the government of Belarus may have placed malicious code inside the healthcare.gov website allowing it to hack into the personal information of consumers.
So how did we find out about this Belarus connection? They told us:
"Officials disclosed the software compromise last week after the discovery in early January of statements by Belarusian official Valery Tsepkalo, director of the government-backed High-Technology Park (HTP) in Minsk.
Tsepkalo told a Russian radio station in an interview broadcast last summer that HHS is "one of our clients," and that "we are helping Obama complete his insurance reform."
"Our programmers wrote the program that appears on the monitors in all hospitals and all insurance companies-they will see the full profile of the given patient," Tsepkalo said June 25 on Voice of Russia Radio."
White House National Security Council spokeswoman Caitlin Hayden said an intelligence report on the Belarusian software was "recalled by the intelligence community shortly after it was issued.""
Why recall the report? Obviously, the White House doesn't want the public to know how criminally negligent they've been in hiring hackers to write Obamacare website code.
When was the administration going to get around to telling people who've signed up via healthcare.gov that someone sitting in Belarus was eyeballing their personal information, looking to sell it to ID thieves?

Obama Whines to O'Reilly:'Absolutely' Unfair to Ask About ObamaCare, IRS, and Benghazi
During an extended portion of Bill O'Reilly's Super Bowl interview with President Obama aired on Monday's O'Reilly Factor, the Fox News host wondered: "Do you think I've been unfair to you?" Obama replied: "Absolutely, of course you are, Bill."
When O'Reilly demanded evidence, the President cited the preceding interview: "Bill, we just went through an interview in which you asked about health care not working, IRS,'Were we wholly corrupt?', Benghazi. Right? So the list of issues that you talk about." O'Reilly pushed back: "But these are unanswered questions." Obama complained: "But they're defined by you guys in a certain way."

Over 2 million jobs lost due to Obamacare says CBO.
the number of people without insurance coverage will have dropped from 45 million today to 30 million says CBO.
So America loses 2mil jobs at a huge cost so 15 mil can get insurance.
Meanwhile the White House says thats ok because women want to stay home with children and work less.
