Along with Tommy Boy the list of faux Republican House members or con servatives that changed their mind on the transportation bill include:

Sue Helm
Sandra Major
Ron Marisco
Kurt Masser
Ron Miller
Duane Milne
Dan Moul
John Payne
Marguerite Quinn
Curtis Sonney

The final approval votes came from these RINOs

Karen Bobeck
Seth Grove

These RINOs need to voted out as well along with the likes of Nick Micozzie, Dominic Pileggi,Jeffery Piccola, John Rafferty and Rick Hess to name a few. And of course Tommy Boy Corbett.

Of course he forgot to mention that he will off-set any reductions in fuel prices with new taxes on the middle class (or what republicans like to call them ...fees, hahaa).

One more thing...

Long live Social Security...take away the cap from the wealthy to bolster the program for all of us middle class workers...lets retire with dignity.
Hands off our Social Security.

While the punditry has focused on Dems supposedly “running away” from the law, what is really happening is they are adopting variations of the “keep and fix” message that will be central to the Dem approach next year. Dems like Kay Hagan, Mary Landrieu, and Mark Pryor are embracing various “fixes,” but they will be attacking GOP opponents for supporting repeal. Dems remain committed to sticking with the law, which could get tougher if it continues to experience problems, but easier if it works and coverage continues to expand.

Pundits will probably see this new messaging as a kind of political “lemons to lemonade” play. And to be sure, many Dems remain nervous about what the law will do to their prospects. But the new push from Dems is also about recasting the meta-pundit debate over Obamacare — it’s an effort to persuade the commentariat that while Obamacare may be unpopular, the GOP repeal stance is a liability, too.

As 2012 illustrated, getting commentators to view the debate over a major political albatross (whether it’s the economy or Obamacare) as a “choice” rather than a “referendum” is not easy. But as 2012 also illustrated, voters don’t always view things in the same terms the pundits do.

The Party of Zilch

Rather than be the party of solutions in a gridlocked capital, appealing to a leadership-starved public, the GOP is the party of obstruction, ensuring that its putrid approval ratings nose dive apace with Obama’s.

The country needs sensible immigration reform that brings 11 million or so undocumented residents out of the shadows. No, says the GOP
The country needs to tame a massive debt that will be 100 percent of the gross domestic product by 2038 unless Congress raises revenue and trims entitlements. No, says the GOP.

The country needs fair debate and compromise around existential issues such as climate change, income inequality, and a deteriorating 20th century infrastructure. No, says the GOP.

Officials: Slower health spending growth may boost jobs
- The new report reflects studies that show lower-than-normal increases in health care costs and spending.

Health care costs rose by only 1.3% a year from 2010 to 2013, a new report from the White House Council on Economic Advisers shows. That's the lowest increase in a three-year period on record. White House officials cite the 2010 Affordable Care Act as a main factor in lowering costs.

Oklahoma Drops National Guard Benefits For All Couples To Avoid Serving Same-Sex Couples

Oklahoma Gov. Mary Fallin (R) announced earlier this month that state-owned National Guard facilities will no longer allow any married couples to apply for spousal benefits, regardless of whether they are same-sex or opposite-sex. The Supreme Court’s decision overturning the Defense of Marriage Act means that servicemembers with same-sex spouses are now eligible for federal benefits. Fallin’s unusual tactic is designed to avoid having to recognize those couples, which she asserts would violate Oklahoma’s constitutional amendment limiting marriage to one man and one woman:

FALLIN: Oklahoma law is clear. The state of Oklahoma does not recognize same-sex marriages, nor does it confer marriage benefits to same-sex couples. The decision reached today allows the National Guard to obey Oklahoma law without violating federal rules or policies. It protects the integrity of our state constitution and sends a message to the federal government that they cannot simply ignore our laws or the will of the people.

This decision directly contradicts an order from Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel ordering states to provide same-sex couples with the federal benefits they deserve under the law.

Texas National Guard refuses to process military housing allowance for gay couples

The Texas National Guard has moved a step further in its defiance of a Pentagon policy toward gay service members by refusing to process military housing allowances for same-sex couples, according to a gay-rights group.
...
“By refusing to treat same-gender military couples equally, the Texas Military Forces, under the leadership of Gov. Rick Perry, is creating a hostile climate of discrimination and has sent a strong message that Department of Defense policies and direct orders by the secretary of defense will not be followed,” said AMPA president Stephen Peters.

In August, Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel ordered the military to treat all legally married couples equally. That directive complied with an earlier Supreme Court decision that required the federal government to recognize legally married same-sex spouses for the purpose of benefits.

Poll: Large Majority Of Americans Support Nuclear Deal With Iran

A new Washington Post/ABC News poll released on Wednesday found that a large majority of Americans would support an agreement between the United States, its international partners and Iran that would allow some easing of sanctions on the Islamic Republic in exchange for curbs on its nuclear program.

When asked,“would you support or oppose an agreement in which the United States and other countries would lift some of their economic sanctions against Iran, in exchange for Iran restricting its nuclear program in a way that makes it harder for it to produce nuclear weapons,”

64 percent of respondents said they would support such an agreement while just 30 percent opposed.

From the Poetic Justice file....

White Supremacist Craig Cobb Targeted With Graffiti For African Descent

Craig Cobb, the self-described white supremacist who seeks to turn Leith, N.D. into an Aryan enclave, got a taste of his own medicine after DNA test results revealed on daytime television that he's part-African.

The Los Angeles Times reported Wednesday that a fellow white supremacist targeted Cobb with racially charged graffiti after his appearance on the "Trisha Goddard" show, where a DNA test revealed that he was genetically "14 percent sub-Saharan African."

“The individual in question was interviewed, and when his interview answers weren’t matching up, he essentially admitted it," Grant County Assistant State's Attorney Todd Schwarz told the Times. "The one that tipped it off -- he painted on the house,'BACK IN BLACK,' and he’s not an AC/DC fan."

Cobb was arrested and jailed Saturday on charges of terrorizing along with one of his followers, Kynan Dutton, after Leith residents called 911 to complain the men were threatening them with guns.

Cobb sent the Bismarck Tribune a text message before that arrest explaining his actions: "Because of the many violences and harassments against we and the children, we have commenced armed patrols of Leith."

Schwartz told the Times that Cobb and Dutton "had a falling out" with the other supremacist the day Cobb's DNA test results were revealed. Since Schwartz thought Cobb knew his fellow supremacist targeted him, the prosecutor said, the armed patrol was a "manufactured" excuse to harass Leith residents.

Israeli Lawmakers Blast Netanyahu’s Campaign Against U.S. Deal With Iran

Israeli lawmakers lashed out at Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Saturday for publicly criticizing the United States’ negotiations with Iran over its nuclear program.

Netanyahu has in recent weeks launched a public campaign, including numerous appearances on American news programs, seemingly aimed at scuttling any potential deal in works between the U.S, its international partners and Iran. The Israeli prime minister has repeatedly called the reported agreement “a bad deal”— despite the fact that the definitive contours of any deal have yet to be made public.

Member of the Knesset Yitzhak Herzog of the opposition Labor Party criticized the prime minister this weekend.

Push For More Sanctions On Iran Draws Scant Support In Congress

A letter urging the Senate to pass further sanctions on Iran’s nuclear program failed to receive half as many supporters as a letter earlier this year calling on the Obama administration to increase diplomatic overtures towards Tehran.
...
The White House has been pressing the Senate to hold off on new sanctions while the negotiations continue, ramping up their rhetoric over the course of the week. On Wednesday, White House press secretary Jay Carney warned that new legislation could put America on the “march to war.” Speaking at a press appearance on Thursday, President Obama likewise made clear that he believes there’s “no need” for new sanctions at this time.

What the CBS poll REALLY says:
The majority of Americans want to keep Obamacare or enhance it. A minority want it repealed.

----------

So Far, Obamacare Has Taken Only A Modest Hit In The Polls

Yesterday I misread a poll question about Obamacare, initially thinking it was about whether people wanted to make changes to the law. Today, though, CBS has a poll question that really does ask this. Here it is:

[keep as is - 7%; needs some changes - 48%; repeal - 43%]

(7 + 48 = 55% saying keep or enhance)

This isn’t very different from Kaiser tracking polls in the past. In the most recent one, among people who expressed an opinion, 56 percent wanted the law kept as is or enhanced, while 44 percent wanted it repealed.

So far, Obamacare hasn’t really taken that big a hit in public opinion, and as the website problems continue to get fixed I expect that public opinion will improve.

TPM: Reports:

Obamacare Enrollment On The Rise

Obamacare enrollment seems to be recovering from its slow start and picking up in the last few weeks, according to news reports. The New York Times reported Monday that more than 50,000 Americans had selected a health plan through HealthCare.gov , the federal website serving 36 states, as of mid-November. That’s up from about 27,000 who had picked a plan over the entire month of October.

According to the Los Angeles Times, enrollment in some of the 15 state marketplaces is also on the upswing. In the first half of November, California has nearly doubled its enrollment in all of October. In the Minnesota, the rate of enrollment in the second half of October was triple what it had been in the first half of the month. State officials in Connecticut, Kentucky and Washington told the Times that they were on pace to beat their enrollment goals and/or top last month’s enrollment.

Poll:'Obamacare' vs.'Affordable Care Act'

How do you feel about Obamacare? How about the Affordable Care Act?

They're two different names for one law, but a new poll shows more Americans oppose the president's signature health care law when it has his name attached than when it's called the official name.

According to a new CNBC poll that surveyed two different groups, 46% of the group that was asked about "Obamacare" was opposed to the law, while 37% of the group asked about the "Affordable Care Act" was opposed to the law.

At the same time, more people support "Obamacare" (29%) than those who support ACA (22%.) In other words, having "Obama" in the name "raises the positives and the negatives," as CNBC put it.

It's also important to note that 30% didn't know what the ACA was, compared to 12% who weren't familiar with Obamacare, according to the poll.

The word "Obamacare" has taken on a roller-coaster trajectory of its own, first coming into favor with Republicans as a criticism of the law, and more recently, as the subject of Democratic efforts to reclaim it.

Some Americans Say They Support the Affordable Care Act but Not Obamacare
- The idea that ignorance is the root of much disagreement—that if Americans understood the healthcare law, more would support it—seems condescending, but not invalid.

NPR's Morning Edition today made the same point. Kate Bicego, who manages consumer assistance for the Massachusetts health consumer group Health Care for All, said people remain surprised to hear that there are health plans they can afford, that many qualify for help with paying premiums, and that they won't be penalized for not buying something they can't afford.

"Once I talk to them for about an hour about 'This is actually what the law does,'" Bicego said, "people are just as excited as I am about what this means."

Since its initial passage, polls have continued to show that many people who say they are oppose the Affordable Care Act actually do endorse its provisions. PBS, NPR, NBC, The Washington Post, and The Atlantic have all ran/aired basic "What Is Obamacare?"-type content. Still recently only a quarter of Americans say they understand the law well.

GOP commits double fraud with Obamacare navigator smear campaign

This week's target in the never-ending Republican crusade to sabotage the Affordable Care Act is the Obamacare navigators, the dozens of community groups, hospitals and other non-profit organizations who have received federal grants to help Americans enroll in new health insurance plans.

After launching a House probe of the groups and enacting draconian state restrictions on their activities, Republicans are warning that the navigators, like Nigerian email scammers, could be criminals intent on stealing Americans' identities.

Unsurprisingly, this GOP's cynical attempt to prevent Americans from obtaining health insurance is a double fraud.

After all, President Bush's unfunded $400 billion Medicare prescription drug program used navigators, too. Many of the same groups are Obamacare navigators now.(Some of the Bush navigators, like ACORN and the arch-conservative 60 Plus Association, are not.)

And as it turns out, the real threat to bilk billions of dollars from the American people isn't a bunch of non-profit social workers with foreign sounding names, but comes from national hospital chains and device manufacturers with very American names like Florida Governor Rick Scott.
