Zimmerman acquittal sparks Oakland, San Francisco protests
Windsor Genova – Fourth Estate Cooperative Contributor
Oakland, CA, United States (4E)– A Florida jury on Saturday night found former neighborhood watchman George Zimmerman not guilty of murdering Trayvon Martin sparking protests in Oakland and San Francisco.
Downtown Oakland was a scene of vandalism as protesters vent their anger over the acquittal of Zimmerman to buildings and cars. An hour after gathering at Frank Ogawa Plaza outside City Hall at 10 p.m., they marched downtown breaking windows, trashing a police squad car, spray painting buildings and starting fires in the street.
Police in riot gear blocked the path of the marchers but no violent confrontation or arrests happened.
The windows of Wells Fargo Bank, Dogwood Bar, the Oakland Tribune and Sears were reportedly broken. A BART police car was spray painted and its window smashed.
The protesters numbering around 100 also burned several American and California flags on 14th and Jackson streets and spray-painted “Kill Zimmerman” on the side of the Alameda County Courthouse.
The protest rally in San Francisco was peaceful with 200 people marching from the Mission and 24th Street BART station to 16th Street. Police escorted the marchers, who ended the protest around 10 p.m.

Enter the racial hating tea bag zone where these dumb asses think voting down a post is a big frigging deal, moron Limbaugh nut juice guzzlers. Gulp gulp all that. America knows all about these racial hating tea bags but the tea bag victimhood mindset is awesome. Sooner or later that racist Zimmerman will come face to face with someone who needs to even the score just like Zimmerman and what will tea bags scream? Zimmerman started something his racist ass can't finish, no. Tea bags get busy voting this post down as if that's all you got. It is but keep that racial tea bag hype alive, america will not
#51108 Jul 15, 2013
Be careful and step quietly lil Bobby. I hear Zimmerman be packin a toy.
BTW.... Chicago had over 400 murders last year. 75% were black on black. Piss off with your hate whitey attitude loser.

Tea bag this, tea bag that and tea bag zone. What is it with you and tea bags? Voting down a post? Looks to me like most posts are voted on and by those with conservative and liberal views so what’s the big deal here with you? Seems to me like you are mad because a lot of posters don’t agree with you. It’s a forum, bobby6464. There will always be a difference of opinion and to take a fit is not the answer. Try stepping back from your PC for awhile, relax, have a beer then return.
What is this Limbaugh nut juice you mention so often on here? If it’s what I think I think it is you shouldn’t post it. That’s just plain sick and far from normal. Why are you always posting about nut juice? Do you have homosexual tendencies or what? Do you hate gay people and this is your way of lashing out at them. Your posts just don’t make any sense to me. You ramble on posting meaningless garbage.
What does American know about these racial hating tea bags you speak of. Who is this America? I never heard any one talk about these tea bags like you do. What is this awesome tea bag victimhood, I never heard about it?
Zimmerman is not a racist and that’s as clear as the nose on your face. For you to condone evening the score is sick, bordering on the side of evil and again you mention these tea bags will scream. Makes no sense at all.
Zimmerman didn’t start it, you lie. It has to be a lie because no one is this stupid. Zimmerman had his trial and was found not guilty on all charges. If Martin had not been an arrogant ass he would be alive today. Martin thought he was the tough guy from the hood and look what it got him. It’s thinking like yours that keep racism alive and the black race in the ghettos.
Martin started it and forced Zimmerman to end it.
Because of the black racists and those who support their hate ( you are the perfect example) we now have protesters throughout America, vandalizing innocent people and businesses. When will the killing begin, bobby6464? You constantly condemn the Tea Party yet I have never seen one Tea Part event when they were violent.

US can't afford to cede green energy industry to its competitors
America used to be the leader in clean energy, but it has been surpassed by China and others. The US can't afford to lose the jobs and economic benefits of green energy. Like its competitors, America needs standards that mandate percentages of green energy by key deadlines.
While other countries are cutting back on coal polluting energy and gradually fading it out, coal fire plants still ranks number 1 in the US for producing electricity.
Last year, for the first time, China surpassed the US in terms of total dollar investments in clean energy. America now ranks an unimpressive 10 on a list of countries ranked by clean energy capacity installed since 2006. It doesn't even make the top 10 lists for clean energy investment growth in the past five years.
America can’t afford to lose the jobs and potential of green energy. All of its major competitors, most countries, and many US states have standards mandating the percentage of energy that must be derived from green sources by a certain date. China has a standard of 15 percent renewable energy by 2020, and California is targeting 33 percent by the same year. The US should do the same thing. President Obama has called for 80 percent clean energy by 2035, but workable legislation that would get us there has yet to materialize.

The daily caller, REALLY? That's a fictional source. America thought you knew

But the GOP keeps saying "deep ,baby ,dig",for coal
that has been poisoning our nation for decades. Coal is a deadly killer, and adds to global warming.
Thousands of people have died ( including children ) over the years. Estimated 13,000 people have died from black lung, toxic waste and coal dust. It causes cancer and other health issues.
We must go to solar, wind, natural gas and nuclear for our future energy sources.
The GOP wants to burn more coal in the next century, to pollute our air and kill people with this deadly source of energy.

THIS is the lamest comeback in Topix history.
No attempt to address the question.
Total avoidance of the issue.
Weak criticism of legitimate facts.
Seriously, if you don't want to debate the issue, why the hell are you here?
#51122 Jul 16, 2013
Merely ASSERTING that something is false means jack sh**.
I posted facts.
What do you have to refute them - besides a blanket, unsupported assertion?
It's easy to SAY something is "totally false."
It's another thing altogether to PROVE something is false.
Prove it or shut the hell up.

NBC was stupid and unprofessional for editing the 911 tapes.
But the wingnuts go on and on as if that somehow exonerates Zimmerman.
They focus on an irrelevant incident to try to take the focus off the FACTS of the case.
For some insane reason, the right has a desperate need to try to find ways to exonerate this killer.
Lord knows why!
NBC's stupidity doesn't change a single fact of the case - Zimmerman stalked and killed an unarmed teenager who had done nothing wrong.
Then the police did not arrest him, denying justice to Trayvon's family.
Shoddy reporting doesn't change any of that, no matter how badly anyone wants it to.

Four years ago, the economy was shrinking; now it's growing.
Four years ago, the economy was hemorrhaging jobs; now it's gaining jobs.
Four years ago, the unemployment rate was going up; now it's going down.
Four years ago, the stock market was crashing; now it's reaching new heights.
Four years ago, the deficit was getting bigger; now it's getting smaller.
Four years ago, the American auto industry was on the verge of collapse; now it's thriving.
President Obama saved the US economy for a second Great Depression.
That's why I'm voting for him.
That's why I'm not afraid to say so.

The Daily Caller's lurid, fraudulent story of Sen. Robert Menendez (D-NJ) patronizing Dominican prostitutes has taken yet another hit as the lawyer representing the prostitutes, Melanio Figueroa, has reportedly let loose with a variety of outlandish story-changing allegations, among them that he was paid and pressured by various media outlets (the Daily Caller among them) to fabricate the whole affair. Figueroa's credibility is now non-existent, which only serves to reinforce how wildly irresponsible the Daily Caller was to run with the story in the first place.
A number of other news outlets were approached with the fake Menendez story -- ABC News, the Star Ledger (Newark, New Jersey), The New York Post -- and they all turned it down because they didn't believe it passed muster. Their skepticism was wise -- one of the women who made allegations against Menendez has since recanted, and the Dominican police say they have determined that all three were paid to offer the tale.
The Daily Caller, however, ran with it. And now they're working to discredit their original source, having come lately to the realization that he probably can't be trusted.
Who Funds the Daily Caller?
Maybe the Daily Caller's readers should just be expected to take a "buyer beware" approach. On the other hand, who is actually bankrolling the Daily Caller's news site and funding the Daily Caller News Foundation, a non-profit charity? Are there big undisclosed benefactors behind the scenes, beyond the company's online ad revenue? Does the Daily Caller benefit from perks such as interns subsidized through Koch largesse? Maybe Bastasch will turn his attention to that question for the sake of the transparency? Probably not.
Daily Caller's website is owned and operated by none other than the racist and GOP puppet Fox News flunkie CEO Tucker Carlson.
Prove it or shut the hell up! LMAO!
The Daily Caller is one notch up from the National Enquirer were mothers give birth to space aliens and Elvis is alive hiding in the Caymen Islands...LMAO!!
Yes folks, the Daily Caller is just another spin off from Fox News past commentators.

Fox News, Daily Caller, Admit That Fox News Is Not A Legitimate News Outlet
One of Mitt Romney’s most reality-detached comments of this campaign came when he declared that “We don’t have people that become ill, who die in their apartment because they don’t have insurance.” The Olympian ignorance of that remark says a lot about Romney’s elitist upbringing and orientation. The truth is that thousands of people die every year due to lack of health care coverage – more than 26,000 in 2010. And it isn’t just people who get sudden illnesses in their apartments, but people who have untreated and/or undiagnosed problems that lead to more severe disorders and fatalities.
New York Times columnist Paul Krugman addressed this matter in an editorial where he thoroughly demolished Romney’s preposterous theory:
“So let’s be brutally honest here. The Romney-Ryan position on health care is that many millions of Americans must be denied health insurance, and millions more deprived of the security Medicare now provides, in order to save money. At the same time, of course, Mr. Romney and Mr. Ryan are proposing trillions of dollars in tax cuts for the wealthy. So a literal description of their plan is that they want to expose many Americans to financial insecurity, and let some of them die, so that a handful of already wealthy people can have a higher after-tax income
The outrage generated by this was expressed in a column by Daily Caller contributor, Jim Huffman. However, there is nothing in Huffman’s retort that attempts to rebut the substantive assertions by Krugman. He never bothers to counter the argument that thousands of Americans are at risk due to deficient or non-existent coverage. The entirety of his pique is aimed at a single sentence that Huffman interprets as Krugman alleging that Romney wants people to die.
Prove it or shut the hell up! LMAO!

Obamacare’s Death Panels
No list of conspiracy theories would be complete without a mention of Sarah Palin’s “death panels.” These nefarious groups were said to have the power to decide whether your grandmother would live or die based on her level of productivity to society as determined by a team of government bureaucrats. In reality the section of the Affordable Care Act to which Palin referred actually provided for coverage to pay for end-of-life counseling. These were voluntary sessions to help patients determine and document what sort of life-saving measures they preferred in the event that they were incapacitated and unable to communicate their wishes to their doctors. When that proved to be an embarrassing misinterpretation of the law, conservatives switched to another section of the bill, the Independent Payment Advisory Board, and called that the death panel. However, the IPAB was simply a board that assessed the best practices in medicine and made non-binding recommendations in order to prevent excessive billing and unnecessary procedures. Palin was awarded the “Lie of the Year” award from PolitiFact for her imaginary panel.
